Brrrrrr it is VERY cold here today!!
Real soup weather I think.
I will certainly be making a pan of soup for lunch today.
What is your favourite soup - mine is pea and ham soup, i buy a ham shank and make a big pot of the stuff - love it!! I also like it with herby dumplings in to make it a more hearty dish.
So do you make soups or do you use packets or tins?

I enjoy good old fashioned tomato/creamy tomato soup. Or sometimes a vegetable soup.

My favorite is corn soup. It tastes good. I don't add some stuff to it. I only use the corn soup pack. When I have enough time however, I prepare a native chicken soup. I usually add some moringga leaves and lemon grass to it. The native chicken soup also tastes so good when added with some sharp green peppers which we call 'espada' (which means sword) in the vernacular because it resembles a sword.

Hello, Oldchem. I love soup, and I always make my own. If I need to lose weight, I'll do a week on the Cabbage Soup Diet, and I often knock up a tomato-based vegetable soup, when I have leftover cooked vegetables, or even if I have a few odds and ends knocking around in the vegetable rack.
A while back, I made Cornish pasties, and I even made a soup from the steak, potatoes, onion and swede that was left. With the addition of sweetcorn, celery, tomatoes and a few seasonings, it was delicious. This led my husband to tell all our friends to keep moving, unless they wanted to be soup! Another so-called friend said I must be a secret witch, because I always seem to have a cauldron on the stove!
My favourite soup is actually a stew, but who cares? It's a Spanish recipe - chickpea and potato stew. It's vegetarian, but sometimes I add some ham pieces or chorizo sausage to ring the changes. If you want to add it to your repertoire, here's the link:

Another vote for the pea and ham option, there's nothing better for warming you up!
I don't use packets or tins as I have allergies so I tend to cook from scratch anyway.

Chicken moodle soup has always been my favorite. I never cared for bean soup or even tomato soup, My favorite cream soup is mushroom. I can eat mushroom soup alone or as part of a recipe.
