I would like to know your opinion on Putonghua/Mandarin, which is the official language of China. Do you think that it is important to learn it? Why, or why not?

Depends where you are staying. You live in an asian country and it might be a plus for you to learn it.
I am also staying in an asian country and speaking mandarin is kinda like a bonus for you. Since most of our business would come from other asians, it would be nice to learn and you could speak with clients in their tongue

Putonghua is our official language, although not every official could speak it well.
There is no need to learn it especially, you can be skilled on it if you could speak Chinese.
