What do you do when you are criticized?

Ever get insulted by the one who you care about most? Criticism can be paralyzing. It can make us feel sad, angry at others, or even at ourselves. But what can we do when we hear claims and taunts that are wrong or mistaken? or worse - claims that are true? Is it all we can do not to become powerless, and sulk off to nurse our emotional wounds?
Feel free to offer advice, guidelines, share personal experiences, or just empathize. We're all in this together, so let's help each other out!

When I am criticized, I would analysis the truth of the criticism. I believe that others can see more of me than myself, and therefore, I need these people to act as my mirror - to feedback to me any shortcomings that I have. On the other hand, if the criticism is unjust, I would ignore it altogether. I just need to remind myself that even saints get criticized, let alone a mortal like me.
