I've been working in a call center for more than two years now. That means that I'm working at night 5 days a week. At first, I'd always miss my bed and sleeping at night. I also miss the night shows that I like. But now that I'm used to it, I learned to love working in the night shift. I don't get to experience too much traffic, and my exposure to the exhausting heat of the sun is lessened.
Would you choose to work at night? Are you a night or morning person?

My first job was a graveyard and until now I am working graveyard. It's like I got used to it already. Sometimes I just want to be normal like the other ones but I prefer working graveyard since it is quiet and it is really helpful for me now that I am an Online English Teacher. The cool thing is I stay at home and I can just sleep right away when I am very sleepy after work. I got used to it. And I am a night person.

Been in the call center business for 7 years now. I have tried both night and day shifts. My opinion, if your an agent, go for the night shift. You need the extra night differential. If your already on a supervisory level, day shift will be fine. Usually you don't get night differential anymore then anyway. In this business, your sleeping habits always change because of drastic changes in schedule. It's just a matter of how you can adjust quickly.

I am not sure that I could ever work the night shift. I have never tried it, but I think that it would be too hard for me to arrange my schedule and get used to being awake all of those hours.
For me, I think I would prefer to work second shift. That would be going into work around 3:00 in the afternoon, and working until 11:00 pm at night. That would be a little difficult, however I wouldn't have to worry about waking up early in the morning.
I have gotten used to working from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, but I am still not sure that I like it. I feel like I miss a lot of programs on television because I have to go to bed so early in order to wake up early enough for my job. Plus, I miss the morning television shows that I used to be able to watch when I wasn't working.
Maybe that's the answer, not having to work at all. At least not having to work for anyone else. Then, I could set my own hours and be able to choose the days that I would like to work. Yep, I believe that is the point where I need to be in life.
Good luck to you, I am glad that you have gotten used to working the night shift and that you do not have to work in the exhausting heat so much. Have a beautiful day!

I've been working in a night shift for more than two years now. Though there's no traffic, I find it very difficult working at night. I get to see my friends less often because our schedules do not fit with each other. Funny thing, I really get so emotional working at night especially during rainy days. When you feel that when almost everyone is about to sleep but here you are, almost about to start your work. If I have a choice, I want to work during day time, somehow it feels normal.

I'm a home based telemarketer calling residences and business in Canada and USA. My job is similar to call center jobs, the difference is I work at home.Currently I'm running three campaigns from different clients or business's and I stay up every nights from 9pm to 7am and thats every monday to saturday (six nights a week). Working at nights is better especially when you are in a legit company for they'l have to pay you for the night diff. And, for me I never missed a time with my friends since I have all the day time. It's not tiring at all when you get used to it, I've been doing this job for 3 years and I've also worked with teletech and callbox before. I'm a nocturnal money maker.

I never actually worked at night, but I used to study at night when my parents went to bed and nobody distracted me, and I find it terribly hard to wake up every morning to come to work now... So I guess I'm a night person after all...

It is always best to work at day but there's the downside to it also. Traffic is bad, the sweltering heat, you have to battle other passengers to get a ride etc. But I guess its more healthy than working at night because our bodies are programmed that when we see darkness, it activates our brains to urge us to sleep or rest. So it is like going against the law of nature or something like that.
