Have you watched Sherlock Holmes movies?

Dear myLotters... I have been a fan of Sherlock Holmes and his stories. Before 2-3 years I watched a movie on History channel... It was the 'story of Blue Carbuncle'. The guy who played Holmes did it wonderfully... I was impressed to a greater degree... Later I got to know that he is the only actor, who had successfully portrayed Holmes on screen... I am sure you know who I am talking about... Yes, 'Jeremy Brett'!! The only man who could personify Holmes... I have been so crazy about it that I always searched for, and watched all Holmes movies which featured Brett... Oh simply wonderful!!!

Hi mr_pearl, I saw Sherlock Holmes serials in Television every sunday we used to get in our national DD channel. Every episode is so interesting. The person who acted in that serial is perfect match to the Sherlock Holmes. I also saw one old movie Women in Green,Hero was Basil, i didn't remember his full name. It was quite good. And one more movie in History channel. We have a Non-detailed book in our 10th standard ie. Baskerville Hall, it was thrilling, and our English teacher us in a very detailed way as we can imagine the characters in front of us. Have a nice day.

Hi Jotomy... Thanks for Sharing... I didn't know that they have added Holmes' best story in text books... 'The Hound of Baskervilles' is the most thrilling story of the detective... Wow.. I wish I could get younger again and study Holmes in school... :)

I always thought Jeremy Bret was a bit too old to play Holmes.
If you read the books, Holmes and Watson are about 26 or so and the stories only span about 10 years .
However, I do think he did a good job of portraying a very hard to act character.
Holmes is a bit like the Vulcans on Start trek in that he is very logical and clinical and methodical.
The person that most looked the part was Basil Rathbone .
I think Edward Hardwicke does make a good Watson.

Hi Friend... Thanks for sharing... I really had thought that there were many fans of Holmes, but from the responses, it seems as if only a few know about Holmes...
Well, I have not watched any other actor playing Holmes... The first time I watched a Holmes movie, I saw Brett playing Holmes and I was impressed... Gosh... It was as if he had become Holmes in reality... Amazing... And Hardwicke did a wonderful job as Dr. Watson... I have become a fan of them now...
