Why is itunes deleting my music?!

itunes is regularly deleting about 20 songs per day. Why is this occurring? Is anyone else having this trouble?
one of my friends mentioned it has to do w/file consolidation...but I have no clue how to stop itunes from consolidating my files. Can anyone help me please?

Try reinstalling iTunes, and all that jazz. If that doesn't work, though, there's an alternative to iTunes that I use when iTunes doesn't work. It's not pretty, but it gets the job done.
