I watched the HBO movie last night called "You Don't Know Jack" and it was about Dr. Jack Kevorkian, and how he helped assist very deeply suffering people end their lives. There are many different opinions on this that I have heard, some feel it is wrong and immoral, some feel it is right, some feel it should only be done if a patient is terminal. And I know there are differing laws about it depending on the state. My opinion is that if a person is in pain, physical pain, or their quality of life is so very low, I think that if they choose that this is what they want, to end their life, that they have the right to. And I feel that since doctors are supposed to help patients, I feel there is nothing wrong in a doctor granting their request. What do you think about the issue, how do you feel about doctor assisted suicide?

Hi Spicy! I watched that movie, too, and thought Pacino did an excellent job! It's not my place to judge anyone else's choices so I have to say that, if someone chooses to end their life because they're terminally ill, they should be able to be assisted by someone who knows what they're doing. I couldn't take my own life for religious reasons but I don't believe that I have the right to make decisions for anyone else.
