I tried to sign up for an editor position on Demand Studios but my application was denied. They said that they only accept U.S applicants, eventhogh on their website it says work from anywhere in the world. This is a stupid thing for them to do. It makes absolutely no sense to me. How can I work from anywhenre when I have to be from th U.S. Has this happened to anybody else. It is really annoying.

I was accepted for a Writer's position with them this morning. I am Engliah, living in Ireland.
They do say that they only want Americans as editors, probably because we Europeans speak a different English from wot they does.

I got an email from them this am, saying I was accepted as a writer. I am English, living in Ireland.
They do say that they only employ American editors, probably because they have to correct our poor English and non-American spellings and words. Imagine the confusion if we wrote about putting our heads together under the bonnet, when, to an American (I assume) a bonnet is something a baby or an old lady might wear.
Maybe try again as a writer...

Hi ImIrish, this has something to do with US tax.
Demand Studios accept those who are US taxpayers. US tazpayers need not stay in US. Associated Content used to pay international writers for page views. Now they claim the US tax issue and say that we can only get paid if we join the Featured Contributor program.

I was rejected from them also. I was told that my writing skills are not strong enough for them. I have a minor in English and Creative Writing so I do not believe this at all. I am starting to wonder if they are legit.
