I find myself listening and downloading so many old music from the 90's on back due to the nonsense that is playing on radio every single day.. It seems if it is not a song on shaking and screwing it is a song about a lost soul constantly.. What happen to music with a meaning or songs that made a true impact in your life.. Can you tell me where and when you think music in America started losing its spark?

I agree. I can't understand most of the songs these days. The singers are mumbling and shouting and all. I can't hear any meaning in their songs. I also grew up to the music of the 90's and until now I still listen to them. I'm also a fan of the music of the previous decades because there are more meaning and feelings to the songs. Now, it's a whole lot different.

Exactly what I'm saying. There is no meaning and feelings to any song you hear these days.

I recognize a honest real person, and im never bias but when something sounds just right 100% I have to admit it.

it was MTV's fault, both in Europe and America. Major labels followed and now mainstream music is 100% crap.
I personally advise to check independent music on sites like CD Baby.
Some examples?

I strongly agree with Kenites about the cycle thing. However,it doesn't suit me since I'm still listening to 60's,70's,80's,90's and the present music.Well,if you ask me,music nowadays is so horrible because those artists just create the song to achieve popularity rather quality of the content.

May I ask what music genre do you prefer. I listen also to old music. I listen to almost all genre of music but I always prefer Rock and its subgenre. The music which I least like is the R@B, because I think the lyrics of this music is I think nonsense and gibberish. I'm not much into rap also.

I think because you grow up listening to the music of the 90s. In my opinion music is defined by its generation. When I was a growing up teenager in the mid 90s my uncle keeps on whining that our music (90s music) was unlike their music (70s) that was good. He told me before what happens to the artist, why aren't they making music that is good.
My take on this is, music is always evolving, we may not love the music now because this is not our generations anymore. Mind you, when the generation of today grows old they will also tell this to their youth how good were their music in their days. It is just a cycle. :)

That could be possible as well its just evolution, as times and people and way of life changes then goes the music, so I guess for example like here in the states the economy goes then the music as well lol.
