Is it me, or do ALL babies LOOK the same...

Maybe it's just me but, when someone shows me a picture of a newborn baby I just think he / she just looks like every other baby. I can understand parents thinking the have the most beautiful baby in the world , but not me LOL.
The first thing most people say is 'oh he has his mothers nose' or 'she has her fathers ears' WHY Why why say it.
Maybe I'm just getting old and cynical,
or am I not alone in this way of thinking.
Have fun

Well I find that the black ones tend to look a lot different from the white ones. But yeah, they all have little button noses and scrunched up faces, usually not much hair, etc. Usually if I think a baby resembles somebody, when they get older I was totally wrong. So I mostly just say "awww how cute" and leave it at that!

Yeah, I have not brought home one single baby that's the wrong color. :-)
I do wonder about the blond hair and blue eyes though.

There are some exceptions but I do agree with you that most babies do look alike. I've never understood why people will say "He has his daddy's nose" or "his mother's chin". They all have little button noses and practically NO chin at all. I don't get it.
I heard that all babies look like Winston Churchill and, you know, most do! Newborns, at least. As babies grow, they may take on certain distinct characteristics of family members but that takes time.
I was quite proud of both of my sons when they were born but I never said, or even thought, that they were the most beautiful babies in the world. As a matter of fact, my second son had very red (you know, orange) hair when he was born and, because he was born via C-section his head was very round and I called him "Pumpkin head". (It's okay... he knows I did this and is okay with it. )

Sorry I don't think all babies look alike when born or that all babies are beautiful. When my granddaughter was born she actually looked like a chinese baby and we don't have a bit of chinese in us. So I really don't think all babies look alike. Some come out looking like beautiful babies and others come out looking a bit homely and others are just pretty or cute. Plus some babies you can see right away who they look like but the majority there is not a bit of resemblance at all till later on in their lives.

As far as people saying they look like one of the parents its not 100%true.But there are certain features like nose and eyes which one can make out to be resembling one of the parent. The complexion also can be attributed to the parent.I feel there is a resemblance between the baby and parents but not 6to the extent we imagine so.

Yeah I think it is just you. Babies don't look just the same or identical with all other newly born but they do and act the same, may be that is the reason why you said that...

For me all the babies look the same, expept for my own. My own babies (even my grandchildren) were sort of photographed by my brain as soon as I saw them and marked them as "mine".
As for beauty, I could (and can) tell beauty from uglyness even when it´s my own. I remember when my first grandaughter was brought to me, minutes after she was born as I was a friend of the doctor. I said: she looks like an old lady! She was wrinkled and quite ugly. Fortunatly, now that she´s 19, she is a lot better.. As for my last grandson, I was there when he was born. He was better than his sister, but his genitals were SO big and red! Again my friend had to explain that they would be OK. Have a nice day, friend!

You`re not alone on this, I think the same too. Newborns don`t look like their parents, they just look like the rest of the babies, but you can`t just tell parents as they`re happy with the new event and they actually do think that the kid already looks like them.
I don`t find babies cute either, but it`s a matter of taste.

hello haddowz,
yes it's true...mostly babes do look the same...you can never really tell until they've grown up...and that's the time you can distinguished the certain feature that the child got from his/her parents.have a great day!

maybe to someone who is outside of the family, all babies will look very similar. but family members will see resemblances within the family. and of course parents will think they have the cutest baby of all.
