Hey mylotters, Facebook has drastically increased in popularity over th epast few years now. I don't really get why the site is so popular and what makes people so addicted. I only go on facebook because i'm curious how they changed in appearance, thats it. I couldn't care less about those silly games. Besides that i use to schedule a meeting with my friends, but i could also just damn call them. So, why is facebook so addicting, in your opinion. Have a good day. Borg246

Facebook has so much to offer that it is becoming more and more popular. I didn't use it that much until I found that alot of my online friends from another site were on there and so I started frequenting it. It is also fun to see if old friends are on it as well. And there are so many fun applications to try out and games too. I go on it in the late evening when I am trying to relax after a over taxing day.

I must confess that I used to be addicted to Facebook before. I spend most of my time visiting my friends' pages, updating my status, posting new photos, answering fun surveys and playing games (yoville, pet society, restaurant city, cafe world, mafia wars, treasure isle, hotel city, social city). however, i got tired of it after few months.. now, it's okay with me if i don't visit facebook everyday... i have realized that i should focus on doing productive things like blogging, looking for new ways to earn money online and of course mylotting. :)

Opinions differ. I won't say I'm addicted, but I do enjoy facebook, yes even the games. Let the child in you come out, and see how different it will make you feel. If you can afford calling, then its fine. I can't keep using the phone. So facebook does help me keep in touch. Moreover, I've got in contact with so many of my old, old friends and that is so exciting.

Very true, the facebook games can be fun and it is also very nice and handy if you want to knock off some zeros from that phone bill :)

You don't sound like a vry happy person to me, sorry but Fb is fun, I do know that there are some that stay on it all day, but I also see people that are in the canasta game room lobby all day too, so guess it just what people make it. The games are fun and for me it is a challenge, what am I going to do watch a rerun on TV,I have a whole family that is a 1000 miles away and Fb give me the chance to see picture of the kids they post, and talk to them and help them in the games. Oh yes i could call them, like you said, heck I could even write them a letter, but would only be half the fun. If you don't like FB that is your right but don't knock others that use the site, not all use it for games. But an easy waay to keep track of family members and I like to make cities and watch them grow and harvest my crops when they are done. But then I am disabled so there isnt' much that I can do but sit here and use the computer.

I am 63, my daughter is 42, my son is 43, his son is 20, one of my friendss is 38, one is 29 so what has age got to do with it. If you don't like to play the games or go there, then don't but don't cut others down that like it. It is not only the games, but being able to communicate and see the pictures of our relatives back home. Sure is faster than mail as I see it, also when my grand daughter attended her senior prom last week I could post her pictures and everyone got to see them, instead of trying to make a bunch and send out in mail. So what is wrong with that. So because your friend is a mother she should not do things that she enjoys, Or is it your opinion that once you get past a teenager we should all just sit back like old women and do nothing. I have 286 friends on Fb many as old as me or at least as old as my daughter. So there must be something to it. Most kids could not work the games that are on there, it takes some thinking on the players part. Try it you might find that it is fun. Don't knock something you haven't tried.

You read my mind :| What do you find so addictive at facebook? I don't even like the template. Twitter is much better.... you have to much free time if you play those games..

I like twitter much more because it focuses on the actual 'social networking'.

For me, it's mostly the games. But I do use it to keep in touch with family and friends. It's great to see about people's family also - pictures and whatnot. I've reconnected with some old high school friends and some old co-workers. It's great for a lot of things.

I enjoy Facebook because I have a lot of friends that I know from the "real world" on there. I also have a lot of friends I only know through the Internet and find the interaction with them quite enjoyable. I wouldn't say that Im addicted to it. I don't go there very day and quite often forget to go there for weeks at a time. _Derek

Facebook is not addicting for me at all. I do like some of the games but I don't have to be on everyday like some of my friends are. I'm addicted to Mylot and yes I have to go on everyday. As for Facebook I just don't get why people have to post every little thing they are doing at any given time. I don't care that you are cooking a special meal for your husband or that you are going shopping. Its just so annoying when people post these types of things on facebook.

I actually tend to think that the reason that I am addicted to facebook is similar to the reason that I am addicted to mylot. I'm addicted to both of them because of the social interaction that I am able to get from the sites. You see, I'm a stay at home mother and the vast majority of interaction that I get during the day is with my four year old son and using social websites like facebook enables me to have interaction with adults.

Maybe it's because of the many applications and games you could use while on facebook. And it's easier to share videos and photos and have your friends comment on that... The admins are good so kudos to them having a good site for us..

Yes facebook is very popular now on the web. At first am not found in facebook, I always says its for girls. When I try using facebook since my girlfriend insists me and so I did join. I found out that its really fun. I cant believe that a friend of mine, 15 years I have not seen and I only met them in the facebook. Because of this I would say facebook is a friendly site and a good website.

hi borg246 I agree with you, facebook is not good enough but for the social comunity it is the best site cause they can change any information to each other and most of all it is one of the media to find someone like an old friend of us. I think the popularity cause many people can connect their family, friends, partners which they do notknow yet where they are.
