my 8 year old son had to go to A&E last week as he cut his finger open and i thought it may need a stitch,it didn't,anyway, while he was being treated he asked the doctor if he watched Casualty or Holby City(they are fictional hospital programmes),he replied 'no' as he was always at work,my son then said ' maybe you should coz you might learn something from the doctors on there',thankfully the doctor found it funny and so did the nurse that walked past the cubicle at that moment,,thank god the doctor didn't take it the wrong way,i was soo embarrassed,,my story isn't really that funny, but it's the funniest thing i've heard or seen in A&E,what's yours..

your sister had a point,i'd never have thought to ask that when i was 8,i think doctors are used to kids asking questions like these

Oh yes my daughter swallowed a £2 coin two years ago and she was at the 15 years old.My husband and her were messing around with money and she decided to put pound coins aswell as a five pound note.Out of all the coins they had she had to swallow a two pound coin.We ended up at the hospital as she could not breathe and they gave her a mild anestitic then she had to go on the childrens ward. When the dr came on the ward to discharge her he thought she would be alot younger as older children do not usually have this problem with swallowing things. They gave her xray photos of the coin stuck in her throat aswell as her coin in a small container. She has not messed around with money since.

no i did not want it back, the dr asked her if she thought she was thinking if she put the two pounds in the top was she expecting the change to come out of the bottom. They told her that she was lucky as if the coin had gone any further she would have needed a major op.

Funny coming from a child. I'm sure he wouldn't have been so amused if it had come from an adult!

I am scared of hospitals. Quiet a couple of months back,I was hospitalized as I fall sick and was suffering from Gastroenteritis. I am really scared after I was brought and admitted and everyone including the doctors came running.I was a bit critical probably..And the most terrible part was,I was given 5 bottles of drip(saline water) and 4 injections. It put me into a bad shape. I remember one of the doctor's face as he is quiet good looking. He was a trainee that time, but now we are good friends.

Not one of mine but i read it in todays newspaper. that a man tried melting werthers orignals ( like hard toffee) in a glass vodka bottle of the coooking stove needless to say the ethanol in the vodka caught light and the bottle exploded covering him scalding hot toffee then falls onto the floor slicing his hands to pieces on the broken glass. Hes currently recoving at home after being treated in a burns unit

hi doormouse oh yeah funny story my son when little was so good at pretending things, well we were in the waiting room at my doctor's office me and my mom and lisa rose and my son. I had an appt so mom came along to watch my two children. well my son got bored so he started pretending he was crippled and began to drag one leg around and made a sad looking face. the three old ladies also waiting were talking to each other I overheard one say that poor little boy hes so crippled and that mom does not even bother to give him a chair. Well then when we left, the same old ladies were just behind my son as he walked out without as much as a moan, the one lady said loudly well I never, I thought he was really crippled, why that brat. and I turned around and said, and so what is it to you"? that did shut her up.He was about 7 at the time.I thought my hubby would choke when I told him about it, he laughed so hard.
