Thinking of going to college, any advice?

I'm 23 years old and don't really have a good education, I finished school with mainly C's and D's in my GCSE's and went to college only finding my course in electric engerneering being terminated after 3 months due to the goverment refusing to fund it. I currently work as a warehouse operative for the Co-Operative and pretty much hate my job, which also draws a problem with the hours I am currently working (1pm-9:30pm) which kinda restrics my studying hours, I can't afford to quit and devote all my time to education so I need to fit it a part-time course in the morning before work. I don't have much of an idea of what I want to study, I have been thinking something around design though. considering everything my idea is: Do a access to university course at college studying English, Science, Math and IT. while I'm at college get some money together and eventually goto university by which time hopfully I will figure out what I actually want to do.. It's a long road, but if it works out, it's worth it in the long run, right? any opinons, advice etc? thanks, Much appreciated...

I just graduated college last week and I can tell you one thing - dont do it until you KNOW what you want to study!! I changed my major multiple times and ended up taking courses that did not help me and wasting time and money. However, once you decide what you want to do - go for it! But think it through carefully and you wont be disappointed!

My advice to you is find a good major. One that you know that there is going to be a job for you after graduation. For example, nursing is a good example of that type of field. I graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration and I really can't say that degree has helped me any. If I could back and do it all over again, I would choose a totally different major, and one where I knew I could find a job in.

I can't suggest you much but considering going to college, i suggest you do it. Figure out your game plan and work it. Get a suitable job that pays enough to keep you in school and while you're in, focus on your studies. Don't get strayed by vices or something like those.

go yo college its good experience and you will continue your education but its a lot of reading and writing from my experience but as long as your serious and dont slack off it will get a little easier along the way. but just study and pay attention, take notes if you have to.
