Oh , I really liked that book. I read it almost 10 years ago. It made me laugh big times :)
The situation with the trolls was the funniest: when the trolls cought Bilbo , their conversation was funny ("...maybe this is one of the lots no none at all that he just said..." the troll really thought the dwarves were called "lots no none at all")
The whole point with the dwarves wanted treasure just for the sake of having a treasure was wierd. Why do they need money if they don't do anything with it?
I think they could add some pictures to the book , it could help getting into it.

I read it a long time ago when I was in high school- LOTR was all the craze back then and my bf had a copy of the hobbit at home. I read it. I must say I found it quite hard and difficult to read back then... I'll try to reread sometime when I can, maybe I will be able to understand it more now that I am older. Or perhaps my brain is now old beyond means to understand it.

I loved the Hobbit. It was well written and Tolkien clearly prepared in advance before beginning his work. Within the novel, and all of those in the series you can see a well defined world. One that was fully formed within the mind of the author and he chose to share in such a way so that it could be clearly formed in the eyes of the reader as well. Honestly I am glad we had such amazing authors to share their worlds with us.

I actually liked the book. Maybe it's because I love fantasy and adventure books. They make me go to places unimaginable and somewhere exciting. If they're going to have a movie adaptation, I think it's going to be great. The storyline is very interesting too. It made me understand a little bit more of the world of hobbits and their history.

I think since i read the hobbit after the Lord of the Rings series. It was REALLY hard to get into. It didn't seem as intence as the lord of the rings (i know the events were not as big in the hobbit but still). It seemed childish compaired. The characters i thought were good but not the type of characters you could connect with. Like in the lord of the rings i found that i liked the characters, i had a "connection" with them.
but in the hobbit the only characters i realy like or cared about were bilbo and Gandalf. The dwarves didnt hit me as hard.

I liked "The Hobbit" book. It really makes you feel that the characters are real and are existing in the real world. Im so lucky that i had found an EBOOK in the net which was so cool because on it is a map on the way to the mountain "i forgot the name." I recommend if you like to read the trilogy, you should at least try the hobbit first for it gives background on what might happen on the 3 books or why such happened. If you wont feel reading it then you probably arent suited for this kind of genre.
