salty water

I wonder if there is an easy way to get the salt out of the salty water and make it drinkable? I think an easy way to do this is to boil it and get its steam cool back and use. Do you know more other easy and practical ways?

I've read something about a clay water filter, It can turn sea water (salty water) into safe drinking water and it seems this idea was taken from the Ancient Greeks. ^_^

Your idea is very good and genuine but the problem is that to evaporate water and to condense back ,energy is needed, usually this energy is supplied by electricity. You will be amazed to know that to evaporate l liter of water 1000kilo-joule energy is needed that is the same amount of energy emitted by burning 100grams of coal, now a small city with a population of 10,000 people need 100,000 liters of water now for this much amount of water you will need 10,000,000 grams of coal that is 10,000 KG of coal that is 10tonnes of coal, now you can see that how much energy will it require and that is why it is a COSTLY AND LESS ECO-FRIENDLY METHOD.

i once read an article. South Koreans have created a tool that can be used for the distillation of dirty water, including sea water. This tool is practical because it easy to carry everywhere. If want to know more, you can searching the detail information in internet. And i hope all people in the world will not suffering by lack of clean water.
