Summer is coming soon which means another season of SYTYCD! They've been advertising the new season which is also filled with a few twists including new rules and Mia replacing Mary at the judging table as a permanent judge during the show (not during the auditioning process). First off, I'll be sad to see Mary go. I love her craziness, but her craziness is also tempered with knowledge and insightful criticism when she's not busy screaming. She brought a kind of energy to the table that I think they will be lacking without her. Oh well, here's to hoping the new dynamic will be fun to watch as well.
This season, not only are we going to be watching new dancers compete, but they will be paired with returning SYTYCD dancers. I'm not sure how I feel about that. Sure I love to see my old favorite contestants. It will be great to see a few of the former dancers back and dancing again. However, I'm wondering if they're suppose to be like mentors like Dancing on the Stars have the amateurs with the professionals? I don't know. Also, one of the cool aspects of the old rules was that partners were learning together, so they were leaning on each other and creating really good pairs.
Oh well, maybe I'll be proven that my worrying is for nothing. Who knows?

I'm excited about the new dancers being paired with dancers from previous seasons. Sometimes pairs just didn't work out well, and a better dancer was kind of pulled down by their weaker partner. Being with a more experienced dancer who is not being judged might help...
Oh, I didn't hear about Mary! I absolutely adore Mia, but it just won't be the same without Mary screaming... and oh no! Will anyone ever again get a ticket on the Hot Tamale Train?!!!
