Hi Aps.......well dear first of all ,congratulations on your salary hike......And I hope your boss keeps on springing such surprises on you time and again.......
And as for your son,Ia sure his one month of imprisonment(in plaster of Paris) is almost up,and he will be up and about in no time at all....God bless him.....
And yes life is full of unexpected surprises for every one and for me there has been times when I didnt know whether to be happy or sad......like the time when my elder son was to go to US on a job assignment for 4 months and it got extended to 2 years, and more.........I was happy for him ,but was sad that I would not be able to see him for that long, and would miss him terribly......sigh....
And there is another unexpected surprise which I will email to you....he..he....

Surprises are unexpected...if they are expected then they aren't surprises, are they?
Yes, some are pleasant and some are unpleasant.
A pleasant surprise for me was on my last birthday...when my parents turned up at my place. I had not thought in my wildest dreams that they were coming to India.....and in fact, I was expecting friends of theirs as home guests and was preparing the home for them. It was such a pleasant surprise when my parents turned up (along with my sister), that I couldn't help the tears rolling down my cheeks (I haven't cried publicly in years). My husband who cannot keep a secret to himself...had managed not to let me know about this.....and made it a perfect surprise!

Oh, sorry to hear that apsara60. I had so many surprises, maybe I can share one. When I was in college, my boyfriend and I were separated for a while, because he went to his hometown while I was left there in my place. We didn't have class so he was there for quite a long time. I didn't know when he was coming back, we just text everyday. One time, my bestfriend and I watched a movie, in the middle of the movie, someone at my back reached for the food that I was eating, I was really surprised. When I turned around it was my boyfriend, smiling at me. Then we laughed.

My mom always said. All things are equal. I always remember when she said to me though I don't understand what she meant. Now I know what she meant. When things by a surprise that is positive you must also expect the surprise in negative. I don't know why is always happen. All I can say is be happy when we are blessed and be vigilant when things go wrong.

when you will reach your mom's age then you will also talk like mature people. People age with lots of sweet and bitter experiences of life........and then they understand how to handle the life. That is why children must always seek advice of elders in the family, because they may seem to be very simple, but actually they have lot of knowledge that children don't have. Your mother said very right thing to you and I am happy that you remember it.Thanks for your reply.

Hi apsara!
It is true that life is full of surprises. Congratulations to you on your salary hike. I do hope that you have been rewarded for your hard work at your work place and for your commitment and sincerity to the job, you have been assigned.
Hope your son would recover sooner than later and he would soon be jumping on his feet.
As far as I am concerned, I joined a new blog site recently, I submitted a poem and today - to my pleasant surprise I found that my poem features at the top of the site's home page and it is being prominently displayed over there. This made me doubly glad.
Have a great day!

Yes life is full of unexpected surprises, and everytime there is good that was happened it will always have a bad happenings in exchange. I remember 2003 I got my second job, I was very happy and I want to come home in an urgent to let my parents know. When I got home my mother lost her job because the company she was working closed down. I was sad. I did not celebrate because i have a new job, but i feel sorry for my mother because they were not paid, even until now. Even before the closing of the year 2009, that Tuesday I went home and I was very happy, but when I found out what has happened to my father, my emotions shifted to grief. Since then I really don't know if I am ready for unexpected surprises.

You are right dear Grecy.......my life is also full of such experiences just like yours....and that is why I am never excited about any thing.....because I know every joy will be followed by sorrow .In fact when there is too much happiness, I am more scared, somewhere deep inside I feel, this is temporary happiness, which will soon vanish.......I have lived my life with this fear.......and that is why I am never relaxed in life.......always afraid of tomorrow....worried about family, children....I don't know how people meditate and remain cool....I just cannot

we will have salary increase on May in each year, even if in the last year of the finacial crisis, this year the salary is increased a little more than last year which many employees in our company think should be more. But for me, i think it is ok for me,so i feel very happy.
