I miss those days

I was looking for something to read earlier. While I was browsing my bookshelf, I saw my High School Yearbook. I opened it. Out of the blue, I remembered those happy memorable moments with my high school friends. I still hang out with some of them but we don't see each other too often since others already have jobs, families, and others are just too busy with their lives. I suddenly missed hanging out with them, doing silly things, getting in trouble, helping each other, etc. What about you? What do you miss about being in high school? Have a nice day guys! ;)

Recently, I have been connecting with a bunch of old high school friends online. It is true, I miss them all of a sudden. I never thought about them before, but now, I miss the fun times we had. I also miss the feeling of not having a care in the world and taking some risks now and again. Life was so much more exciting then. :-)

Oh yes, the time when I only had to worry about getting spots or finishing a piece of homework!! Now we worry about bills and money, what to eat, when we can afford to replace something, how my kids are getting on, etc.

I miss EVERYTHING!... I miss how we stayed inside the school until the principal asks us to go home. I miss hanging out with my friends. I miss cramming in all my HS projects. I miss all my friends. I miss the teachers, the kind ones, and the strict ones. I miss the classrooms and all the decors we put in all of them. I miss the school celebrations where we don't go to classes and just have special activities. I miss those relaxing days where I still don't need to study hard. I miss our field trips. I miss the JS Prom and all the gatherings. I miss being a high school student!.. SO MUCH!

Haha. I knew it! I checked your profile. You're from the Philippines! I can tell by the way you described the school activities and stuff. I can relate. I love cramming too. I like putting projects aside until a day or two before the deadlines. I miss all my friends as well as the teachers too. School celebrations like Linggo ng wika, Foundation day, etc.

Oh I can so much relate to you. I miss my school and college days so much. Those were the fun days of my life. Now we are so much committed to family that we don't have time for anything else. I was the tomboy kinds during my college and when I missed out a single day, my friends would miss me so much. Now I don't feel that from anybody. Nobody misses me now. I shall cherish those days forever in my heart.

Aww. That's so sweet. What makes you think that nobody misses you? I'm sure your college friends miss you as much as you do. You must be very sweet and kind because your friends miss you whenever you're not around.

When I think back to high school I think about how uptight everyone was. How everything was so serious. I didn't really get to have fun, when I should have been having fun, because the teachers, and my parents were always like "this is serious." They always tell you you'll need it for the real world, or you'll need it to get a job. They really stress you out, and make you think your life depends on the things you do in high school, so you better not mess it up. I hated school because of that. I couldn't wait to get out. But now that I know what I know, sometimes I do wish I could do it over again, but I would make sure to have more fun, and not worry so much. What I learned I will share with all of you students in school right now. None of that stuff matters. Your teachers are liars. High school does not prepare you for the real world. Its nothing like the real world. When you get into the real world, then you'll learn how to deal with the real world. Most of the stuff you learn in school you will never ever use in the workplace. The clubs you join, valedictorian, football star, student of the month, straight A's. No one cares about that. When you get a job, those things are meaningless. So stop being so serious and uptight. Enjoy your school days. Have fun.

Well I learned later, that alot of what I learned in school is wrong. Especially science, and history. The truth about the world is that so called scientist don't know how things work, but people need answers, so they come up with the best answer they can, and then then put it in books, and teachers teach it to kids. Of course you won't even think about whether or not what your teacher told is the truth or not cause its a teacher. Teachers know things. You don't even question it, or give it much thought. But later when you're out of school you might start wondering about things, and then common sense will kick in, and you'll realize what you were told in school doesn't make any sense, and isn't possible. Then I realized school isn't meant to teach you things, because they don't really know how things work. The only function of school is to teach you how to learn. How to figure things out for yourself.

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your high school days, redhotpogo. Teachers are not really liars. They are just teaching us to be more responsible. Although most of them are really killjoys, they want you to always do what's right. But at the end, you'll see that most of what they taught us were right. We do have to take school seriously but we're still supposed to have fun whether they like it or not.

All of us have bad memories in high school. Even though you only had a few friends, that doesn't make you much less of a person. I'm glad that you see it as the best thing that has ever happened in your life. I believe that our high school days contributed a lot to who and what awe are right now. It played a big part in our personality.

I do miss being as close I we were at the time to each other. But you are right as you grow up and get your own life your own family things change and you grow distant from those friends. But don't fret as we do make some new friends along the way as time goes on...

We do make new friends as we move along. But we must not forget our friends in the past. Keeping in touch can make the friendship stronger despite the distance. Losing communication is one reason why friendships don't last. Have a nice day snugglebunnies! ;)

Ten years ago in this month I'm about to be enrolled for the 1st year. Time is so fast. I remember having a report about viruses and snakes. I wrote all the things on the manila paper while my report mates simply read them. Our principal was a sister and we often go to the adjacent church every first friday of the month. I made girls laugh and one of them cry. She recovered from the trauma I brought her and I just can't believe I survived the whole 4 years of it.

I miss hanging out with my buddies. I miss walking to the plaza and hanging out at the local bookstore. I miss riding around in my friends cars and bumping the bass in the car so that the whole neighborhood would here. I miss having poker night at my place. I miss eating at one of my best friend's house because his mom made some good legit Chinese food. I miss my chess club and doing community service with my friend. I miss hanging out at Walmart and shopping at the wee hours of the morning. I miss my friends helping me out with cheating in class. So many things are gone but they are still alive in my memory. Remember, that you still owe me a story!! This is my reminder to you!! =)

They are not gone, for they reside in our hearts and our minds. I can see that you enjoyed your high school days as much as I did. When I was looking at that yearbook, all the memories came rushing back to me. I found myself smiling while looking at those pictures and reading every description below our names. I will forever treasure those days. LOL. The story right! hehe..

i just recently came out of high school, in 2009. i miss the years in middle school transitioning to high school. I had so much fun and wish i could go back some times because, since Katrina hit new Orleans all my memories drown with it :(

Hi, alocure. Is Katrina your best friend? That's okay. Just keep in touch. Friendships last as long as you keep in touch. Loss of communication has always been the culprit in losing friends. I'm glad to hear that you had fun with your school days too. Wait 'til you get to college. I'm sure you'll love it as much as being in high school and middle school. Happy Mylotting. ;)

Well, I am now 40 though I am still in touch with many of my old school friends, mainly through Facebook, so that is good. I did have a very good childhood though and I have lots of good memories of my school days, so when I lok back, I feel nostalgic and sometimes wish I was that young again, that slim and with all those years ahead...
