New voting system in Philippines

The election was so tiring. Though, we have the automated election already but still no change. The weather was so hot and the line was so long. I had to wait for three hours to vote. I know i really have to exercise my right to vote but having a line that has no end and the crowded precincts is discouraging. I just hope that the new leaders to sit in all positions can really help our country develops.

one thing i like with the new automated voting system is its fast as a matter of fact on that night we already know who won in our area unlike before that it took them days up to a week for them to do the counting. its still the same when it comes to voting like be in the line coz we only have 1 day of voting against millions of people to vote and i dont think 1 day is enough for millions of voters. i cant blame those who go home than to stay in line to vote as they dont even have free drinks in every present for those voters nor free food. I guess that what the government can do is make the voting day into 2 to 3 days and they give at least free drinks and food for the voters as compensation.

Hi homeshoppers, Can you name a country who gives free food to voters during an election? That's just crazy don't you think? Filipino politicians will take advantage of that in a huge way.

our new voting system is still full of holes. up until now there are provinces who havent transmitted the election returns.

yeah, right. Here in the city had a hard time transmitting the election returns how much more in remote areas. Gosh, this system is not really good.

well this year was the highest turn out of voters since the 1970's and i guess this shows that though hesitant, our people are in for a change. and this is what the results are too... people wanted change - in the system, in leadership and yes, i hop we are in for a good thing now.

As a patriotic citizen of your country, it is only right that you exercise your rights to vote for a new leader to lead the country to greater heights. May God bless all the good people of Philippines who have voted and placed their trust on the new leadership.

it's because there are many voters in one precinct. i have seen how hard the election was even for the BEIs.

Many were skeptical about the poll automation. But now that we have tried it, COMELEC should now device a plan on how to make it more convenient for voters everywhere. There should be more PCOS machines so that lines will be lesser and that they should give out the stuff a voter needs before election day (such as the voter's ID number, precinct number, cluster number etc.) We have just tried it once, so they still have 3 years to prepare for the next election. They need to cover all the loop holes and perfect the system of voting.
