This is something, but I really need to share this. Somehow, this has taken it’s tool on me. And it is really something. I always got back on my old habit. And it is really not that good. And at times, I usually declare that I am a Christian, but yet I don’t get to stopping it. I always got back on my old habit. And it is never easy. I am guilty and my conscience is really bugging me off. I don’t like it, I don’t get to honor the one who died on the cross. And I don’t get to work for His kingdom. More so, my relationship is with the Lord is really affected that hardly. Huhu. It was never easy, but please, help me too. What you usually do when you sinned? I do get asked forgiveness. But from when would this end? When? Huhu. Help.

"There is none righteous; no, not one."
And there is no man on earth that can keep you from sin. Even if you make yourself accountable to a person, that person cannot clean your heart and your mind from this thing. Only the power of the cross can do that. Depending on another person is legalistic and imperfect, so go to the Perfect Source who can change the inside.
The answer is to pray and pray some more and listen to His answer. Sometimes He will take away the temptation, but other times He will strengthen us so we can resist. There may be something He is trying to teach you through this.
Above all, trust Him. Read Romans chapter 8, then read I Corinthians 10:13.
Your sincerity has been noted by God, you can believe that.

Hello ms peavey. I bet you have been through life. And above all, you are mature enough. And I think, to be your friend will be an honor. Hehe. Thank you for what you shared to me, and forever reminding me of the eternal truths that is in the Bible, the Word of the Lord. Thank you so much. And I know I have to do what you said. To pray and pray some more indeed. To listen to Him as He speaks some answers. Thank you so much. huhu

There are some sins that we do against our will and this would be what you are talking about. God understands and when we pray again and again not to do it, HE gives us strength. So the time between what you did this offense and the next time you do it would increase gradually. We all have tendencies to do certain things against God and Jesus Christ depending on our makeup, personality, etc. so no matter how bad you feel about your particular offence, others feel just as bad as they do about the ones they do.
The unforgivable sin is that against the Holy Ghost, so just keep against God for the strength not to do that offense and HE will never disappoint you.

All of us have to struggle through this life, but the Christian most of all. For unlike those of the world, we have the world, Satan, and our own flesh to contend with. We still have the old life trying to control us, but at the end, we will be victorious. Keep on and keep praying and God will grant you victory.

Thank you so much for the advise. And surely, I am in the time of repentance now. I am listening to Lead me to the Cross song. And it just refreshed me. Though it is too early to tell and say, but everyday, I have to carry the cross. Same to you my brethren, that whenever you will be down or be doing some sins that against you, remember what you shared me this time. I think, it both runs for both us..

The Bible tells us the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. It also tells us that tempation is there and we will be tempted. So every morning, talk to Jesus ask his help and then when the temptation comes use Jesus own words "GET THEE BEHIND ME SATAN!" That has been the most helpful to me.

Yeah, I remembered it too. It was shared to us in one of the preachings in the congregation. To rebuke the devil and he will depart from me. Thank you so much. I know I have to wear the full armor every single moment too.. thanks!

That verse is James 4:7
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
another verse that might help you is I Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Everyone sins, no one is perfect. Ask for forgiveness. If this is really bothering your pastor or the head of your church. They might have some suggestions to help you with this addiction. They may now of someone else with the same problem that has overcome it and may be able to lead you in the right direction. Good luck and if you fall back Jesus will be there to lift you up.

We all sin now and then, even after we have accepted Christ. The trick is to form habits where sinning occurs less and less. This is why we so desperately neeed a relationship with the Lord. When I find I am tempted by sinful thoughts, I get my Bible out and begin a regular reading habit. A good daily habit like this will help keep your mind focused on God. Then, over time, you will begin to feel His presence once again. It is easy to slack off on my reading and prayer sometimes, and when I do I begin to feel the separation. Just like accepting the Lord was a simple decision, accepting Him everyday is a simple thing too. You have found that it is an awful feeling to have the separation. Run back to Him. I believe He is waiting for you.

wow, thank you trillium. You have a very good point there. Bible reading and having a relationship with the Lord is really what I needed. A relationship that is so intimate that will not allow other intruders to ruin it. Somehow, when in my separation times, the feeling is really, really aweful. And for certain, God is always waiting for me. And HE cannot deny Himself as God of Love. Though, there are some and some disciplines though. Hehe.. but then, it feel so relieved to know that Someone out there or in here in my heart is waiting and is really patiently loving me. Huhu. Such a foolish I am to be away from Him.. thanks anyways!

I know what you mean I have this problem alot.. I wonder if God is finally going to say no she doesn't mean it when she says she is sorry and will not do it again.. and I fear he will give up on me.. but one thing I have noticed is that when I have finally screwed up for the last time I know it is the last time.. but I still thank God for his forgiveness and I say I am sorry for everything I have done in my past and I do not want to go back to those old ways...

Perhaps it will help to remember that we all sin, all fall short and that we can do nothing about it, only by grace, freely given are we saved. Pray and have faith not in your own ability but in God
all the best urban

I hope you're thankful your conscience is bothering you. That means the Holy Spirit is working with you to get you on the right path. All Christians need to study God's word and as the Apostle Paul says in Romans 12:2 "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will." Then from the book of James 4:7 "Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."

There has never been more than one perfect person on earth - our Lord, Jesus Christ. Although it is part of Christianity to strive toward perfection, the human condition prevents us from achieving it.
When you sin, Jesus doesn't desert you; He is standing beside you ready to carry you if necessary.
Every person on earth sins multiple times every day, because even impure thoughts are sinful. Strive to do your best, but be honest with yourself and with God. Tell Him the problems you are having and ask for guidance. If your heart is open, He will provide the answers.

I think people in general Christians and non-Christians forget that we are only human.... We do make mistakes but that does not mean we are bad people..... My main problem is when I get angry I have a wagging tongue sometimes that causes me problems..... I feel so guilty not being able to control my tongue and temper...... It does not take place very often but too much for the way I should be acting as a Christian

I would say that you go and tell a person or two about this certain recurring sin. Be sure that these people you tell on are mature enough to handle your situation. Why do you need to tell? So that there could be accountability. When you feel like you're being tempted, then you can tell one of the two persons and you can hopefully overcome the temptation together.
Of course, it is never easy to change a bad habit. But let us also remember that something like that, only God can help us. Pray to God about it. Ask for his help. It is good that you already know that you only have to ask for forgiveness and God will forgive. But remember, there could come a point where your sinning just won't cut it anymore. There is such a thing as sinning until you can't hear the Holy Spirit rebuking you anymore. That is scary and you should prevent that from happening to you.

Hi there. It's not really easy to stop the sin you used to do (especially when you were not yet a Christian). God never says that right then and there you should change. God asks a heart that is broken and repents before God. That's good that you feel that way, meaning you really want to change, but don't look down on yourself and feel really sad. God still honors your heart that repents. Let God change you and don't try to change yourself, because you won't be able to. Ask God for strength to resist temptation and ask God's guidance and always pray to him. Spend more time of God, because having more of Him, means having less of you (and your nature of sin). When you commit that sin again, just ask forgiveness from God and really repent. It's always process.

It takes a lot of time to correct our wrong doings specially when we are used to it,right? Anyway, no one is perfect unless your name is Perfecto lol! Just ask guidenance from your pastor or unto your church elder..do not be hesitant to ask advices from them. When you ask for forgiveness to our Lord, you must mean it.
