Fantastic Moments That You'll Remember Forever

Okay, so last night a short film that I did was featured in a showcase. I'm a very introverted person until I get to know people, but I decided to go to this event anyway, knowing that the first two hours would be all about networking and schmoozing and interacting with strangers. This, unfortunately, is a necessary part of the business and industry in which I've chosen to work. Anyway, fastforward through some awkward introductions (as well as some genuine connections) to when the short films are finished and the judging begins. Now, I knew going in that I was going to vote for my own short. However, I was pleased to find that I actually *would* have voted for my own, even if I wasn't connected to it. I actually thought that it was the best. However, the rest of the audience apparently disagreed, since the Audience Choice Award went to the one that I felt was second best. I wasn't too upset by this, since like I said, I did like the one that won. But then it happened. The Grand Jury decision was announced. This is the one voted on by the panel of industry judges. And we won. We actually won! That moment... the moment when you realize that the hard work you've put into something was actually appreciated, not just by your peers, but by a panel of people who are successful in a way that you want to be... that validation... there's nothing better. And so I ask you, Mylotters: What is that fantastic moment that you'll remember forever? If you have several, feel free to name 'em all. Right now, I'm definitely enjoying life. I'd like to know why you all are, too.

The most fantastic moment of my life is when I passed the bar exams just this March. I can say that it's just about the happiest moment in my life. I was literally on Cloud nine for several weeks. The formalities after, like the oath taking and signing at the Roll of Attorneys really touched my heart, especially after seeing how happy those moments made my family. Right now, I can say that I am enjoying life. I owe it to my profession. The perks of my job are among the reasons why I can say that I am thankful to be blessed.

Oh, that's really sweet. My wife's brother is in law school right now, so I have some understanding of how tough and time consuming that is. Congratulations on passing! That's a wonderful accomplishment! So, do you currently practice law? If so, where? Is it frustrating and difficult at all, or are you able to more focus on the positives, so the other parts don't really affect you?
