Is it just me or does it seem as if a majority of students do bad when it comes towards their last semester? I heard that usually students have a hard time on their freshman year and things get easier later on down the line but it's always the opposite for me. My first semester at school was the easiest. I have been out from highschool for 2 years before I decided to enter back into school to take up a degree in nursing; maybe since I really missed school a lot, I was really determined to succeed. Now I am tired and burnt out and might need to take a break. Has anyone ever had a situation such as mine? Please let me know

I think students who suffer in their last sumester do so because they are too relaxed and are looking towards what they want to do when they leave rather than staying on the ball so to speak and seeing it through to the end by working hard.

Never heard of this before. But Students do bad because they think there already done or have a job and just do not care about putting in the extra work for college. But maybe some people may get depressed because they do not have a job and don't know what they will do next and are afraid to graduate that coud be a reason why they do bad.

I had multiple experiences of wanting to give up, I'm still a year away from graduating but I have been having that dilemma since the first semester in college. I'm taking up computer science and on the first semester in college, I failed my first subject in my whole life. Programming was my weakest link. But I still fought the temptation of shifting to another course and instead I did well on all my subjects. The next term I was able to fix my grades, and did rather well to my surprise. Before the first year ended we were able to choose a specialization, and I chose something that did not really involve too much hardcore programming. And now I'm an incoming senior, I'm very much happy with my decision to stay, but it doesn't mean that I did not have times where I wanted to stop for a while, but somehow I'm stronger now. :)
