Of all the states in India which one do you think is the most corrupt one over the last five years?

i would say that Tamilnadu is the corrupted state in india rather than mumbai we have a lot incidents rising for the last 5 yrs hope so it doesnt goes bad enough...!

Someone told me that Karunanidhi is a hard working person.Do you think it's Jayalalitha or Karunanidhi who must be responsible? My information could be wrong though!

Perhaps it might help for the good of this discussion and for all your member friends here that have alerts for every posts that you make, to actually tell us which state in India YOU THINK IS THE MOST CORRUPT in your own experience in words for a start.
That is instead of starting here with some fact finding ONE LINE question, as this is a discussion I am sure everyone will really like to hear something from you which I believe you have grounds and concrete facts to support this discussion.\
So, how about it? What's your POV?

I wonder if you are taking offense in my post!
Human Development Index is based on three parameters: life expectancy, literacy rate and per capita income. This does not fully reflect the status of the well-being of a nation, but since this is used by UN as well we may have to use it unless we come up with a better model. The state that has the higher HDI will be more developed than others, and the reason for such higher HDI could be because of lesser corruption or rather proper utilization of funds. If that is agreed then one has to look at the HDI. What do you think?

I wonder where and how you would wonder that I am taking any offense about your fact finding post?
Anyway, your profile clearly states that you are from Delhi, India and since you are wondering which state of your country is being a deemed the most corrupted state - I thought it would then be APT for you to air your views or observations.
However, since this is a one liner post, I just doubt if you have anything to say in that area. Also, no offense taken, since your comments above is still indicate that you are being EVASIVE to my perception and thinking.
On the hindsight, indexes and statistics do not actually indicate corruption especially when there can be other mitigating factors like dispersing of available funds in other much needed areas of public welfare and infrastructures.

I am not able to arrive at a conclusion which is the most corrupt state in India. I do not have statistics with me. But I don't think it is Delhi since in many areas Delhi has higher indices than other states. I also think states like Kerala or Mizoram will not be that bad, compared to other Indian states. Someone below suggests that Tamil Nadu must be worst. I am not sure.
If fund is diverted to welfare schemes like building hospital or school that should be take the HDI higher. of course, I grant that HDI will not reflect the picture entirely, but it can also reveal much. If we compare HDI of Bihar and Delhi, it's pretty clear. Delhi is less corrupt than Bihar, and Delhi's HDI is higher.
