I am shocked to read an advertisement, which was not related with the content of an article, but, somehow was telling about the FUN of hacking and viewing lots of WEBCAMS, security cameras.. through typing a simple command in google search bar. I clicked on the advertisement, went to a blog, where there are a lot of kids, working out #codes and command lines, to be used in the google search bar. And, when I TRIED, one such command-line, in the searching, (I got 4 cents, from our mylot for using the search ) -- I got shocked to see a few cameras. one swimming pool also. one airport runway observation. One in JAPAN, one in CANADA.. etc. how many of you know that the webcams and security cams can be HACKED.

at least, we can be safe in our private thoughts. But, there is a gadget, similar to the MRI, magnetic resonance imagery .. something similar and called QUANTUM imagery.. which can read your thoughts too., from a distance of over 10 meters, and give out the result as a form of PICTURES and COLORS. they are trying to improvise that, I heard. It is to be put to use for MEDICAL PURPOSE, but who knows?

forwarding your details to the manufacturer, researcher in RUSSIA, for making the stuff explode-proof. But, all One would be seing on the monitor, when this quantum machine is directed to analyse you is... all sweets and sugar candies. Only a diabetic person should keep away from that. NOT YOU.

Sweetie, they should rather keep that thing away from me. It will either explode or they will be shocked at what they might find. TATA.

This is really scary, there is one person on myLot who has had this happen to her plus he wiped her computer clean so that she could go and do nothing. Talk about big brother watching us all it is a horrible feeling to think that people can also invade your privacy even on the net and ruin your computers as well. LoLo

No way, that's freaky, but I guess these days anything electronic could be. Hey, congrats on the extra search bonus!

thanks on the bonus greetings. YES. i never believed this, and wrote a letter to one of my software friends. He confirmed. But, he says, it cannot happen to your personal webcam. BUT, how all these scams about 'girl bearing all for boyfriend' videos come online? thanks for the response.

If the PC where that CCTV cam is connected then it may get hacked. People online are already expert on such things, It's just that some are unaware that they are being hacked...

i wish to start a topic, advising all to use ON-SCREEN keyboards. Just to avoid the keylogger software. THANKS for the tip. Or, do you want to start that topic. It is your advise. So, go ahead. I will wait another 12 hours before checking.

IT's not only cams that are hacked, Even keyboard and mouse activities are even hacked, it's through trojans or worms that install keyloggers on PCs. It's why some sites display on-screen keyboards to protect their clients from such keyloggers.

I think everybody knows that. I mean, even the movies shows that. I wach sometimes movies which are 5,7 years old and they show us that the diffrent cam can be hacked (bank attack). everything in this world can be hacked or stollen. most of hackers are just kids or young people as they are the curious ones. the growed up people does not have interest in such things as they need to support their families. who have the time and energy to do this kind of things, like becoming a hacker?

oh friend. I have been to many 007 James Bond movies, And, all those gadgets that the BOND uses are a matter of fiction at the time of novel. Only later they were either improvised, or invented. And, I have seen the various movies, where the security cams were hacked, and a different feed was uploaded, just to avoid some BOMB, or Terror attack. Agreed, but I have been under the impression, that this is all movie-stuff. But, when the reality dawned on me, I was shocked. and afraid. So, this alert to all dumb heads like me.

yes. .. with the innovation and inventions going at this jet speed... may be you are very near to the TRUTH. i never thought that the zip-zap-zoooming BATMAN's car can be made into a real piece that runs on today's roads. Thanks for the information. Hope all this will not breakdown someday.

I know what you mean. But think a little bit. to creat a movie there should be some truth. they can not just put in a movie only unreal staff. by the way. did you watch batman? can you believe that his car exists and it is perfectly functioning? the guys from Top Gear (UK Show) presented it. so, is everything only fiction? OK, batman never existed. but...we have his car...so, who knows?

I am amazed that this can be done. I thought that security cameras cannot be hacked like this. this is so dangerous, terrorists might use it for wrong purpose. Just one thing i want to ask is that how do you earn for searching through mylot. I dint use mylot from the last few months, i think they have introduced new earning methods. I would be really thankful if you tell this to me. Have a great day. Be happy:)

hi. Rizzu87 .. greetings. GLAD to find you here! Please check the link, http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#21 to know about "what happens if you are not logging in within 90 days.. The other point of earning through search bar... "just use the search bar, as if you search on any other site. Be natural." YOU will be surprised by mylot, by rewarding you some cash incentive periodically. You will get a message CONGRATULATING you on this. Goodluck. and, wish to see you in all my topics.

Anything connected to a computer can be hacked. Some items may not be any good if they are hacked because the information is so encoded even the people inputting it don't know how to get it back out, but it CAN be hacked. Maybe the secret to real success would be making work as much fun as crime! What do you think?

oh. mysticmaggie. .. the secret to real success? the motivation is just doing something which people have not thought of.. And, so, most of the hackers are either kids, or those who are not properly given the recognition that they presume, they deserve. Bowever, as you said, most of the hacked stuff is junk to the hacker. BUT, what if it is important to the loser? .. better have a good firewall. Thanks for responding.

Main reason I no-longer have one installed on my PC, that ruined any thought if me having one, I even made a special trip to the stores for one years ago; still have it in storage may well stay there too!

yes i have also seen once. but this is not in all cases. and it is very hard to find any specific camera. they can be found because they are searchable and they are online using some sort of static IP addresses. so they can put some security restrictions.

When you watch movies and see how security cams are hacked you know it's not impossible. But I never bothered to find out how this is done. You have aroused my curiosity. Thought it would be good to know how to. When you know how to you will look for ways to tighten it up from being an easy bait. Thank for this eye-opening session. You deserve what your username speaks of you.

Yeah. you are right. But there are some security cameras that can't be hacked easily. Some surveillance systems come with additional features like taking the backup of all the information stored regularly. You can find more information regarding this issue here

Though I didn't know prior to this moment that webcams and security cams could be hacked, I am not ashamed to say that I know now. However, I am also able to say that it really doesn't bother me that they are able to be hacked because those are two things that we don't use in our house. I don't see a point in having a webcam at our house and though we don't have security cameras at our house yet, even when we do get them they aren't going to be online, but only hooked up to a video recorder in our house.
