1st, which CPU are you using or going to use? AMD or Intel? how many sockets do they have? 1.5, the type of your RAM? SD, DDR, DDR2 or DDR3 2nd, your video card's interface. An AGP video card can't be plug into an PCI-E slot. 3rd, as a gaming PC, workmanship and brand should be taken into consideration, ensuring a better and steady performance and an excellent overclocking ability. 4th,the size of your pc case. Is it large enough to hold your new MB. 5th, is your power supply sufficient for your newly upgrades?

Hello, I think you should know all the basic things about your motherboard first. Read this article carefully http://technolocus.blogspot.com/2010/05/motherboard-basics.html This will tell you about every little thing that you need to know in order to identify a good mainboard. It is better if you first choose your processor and then select your motherboard accordingly. The processor, the memory, the add on cards and even the power system should be compatible with the motherboard. First fix your budget. If you have a high budget, you may consider buying the latest motherboards made by Intel, NVIDIA etc. But if your budget is low you may consider an AMD sempron processor with compatible motherboard which will be just for $60 or something. Even if you want a minimal configuration for now, please make sure that your motherboard can be upgraded in the future. Take as much RAM and possible and also check out the power requirement. Thanks God bless you

Often times its less expensive to just buy a new computer than to get a new motherboard; especially if you have to have someone else install it. Call the company you'd be buying it from and ask the technical support any questions you have before you make the investment.
