i have lots of health issuess going on, from my whole spine is a mess, from having arthist all over my body, needing two kness replacement as well a shoulder replacement. there isnt no me getting better just going to get worst. ive been told a few years ago they couldnt tell me or explain why i am still walking. i just say because i am bless, so i dont question it.
but i hear this way too much from people. mostly my dad. i keep telling him you know you have artist, yeah you had both knees replace as well. your stuff is from being old, it came with your age. my didnt, i am 43 about to turn 44 here in a few weeks, and i am told i have an body of an 80 yr old man,
i dont never complain about my health issues i always have a smile on my face, i often will joke about my stuff.

You seem to be strong enough to be compared with, contented to accept who you are, thankful for what you are or what you have. You are just you. And that's great!
It can be a little scary when you compare yourself to others or when you compare others to you because either way the truth can hurt unless you are emotionally well prepared. But even that is not always a guarantee. Do you feel good if the person you are comparing with or the person who compares himself with you has a lot of catching up to do be it in health issues or other things? Do you feel good if the person who compares himself to you is far better off? Does it make you big or small to be compared with. To be comfortable with oneself, to be thankful with what we have, to accept one as one is would be a preferred option to adopt. In that way you feel blessed and happy. Great to know you are!

dear syankee,
sometimes i do but i become stressed doing that. so i try to think of more positive ways on how i could forget some ailments that i have. i took a pet because it lowers the stress and because they dont complain or criticize me. also i try to exercise those painful joints.. in a slow manner of course. just a little stretch here and there, just to get the blood flowing.
we need to help ourselves not to be depressed. and not being depressed would make it more easier for the person taking care of us.
cheers,
ann

Hi. I do compare myself to others because sometimes it helps me to be a better person or it helps me to cheer myself up. Like for example, when during a strong rain fall my boots got soaked, I was hungry and I waited for a long time to get on a bus. I just thought, hey some other people, they are soaking wet all over and have no hope to get food. Me, when I get home, I can eat good food and all my discomfort would go away. Also, comparing myself to others, I am able to get over my laziness.

in the past i often compared self to others ,and felt jealous to others girls who have wonderful look or great background.sometimes i thought it was unfair.now i am a grown up and able to think about stuffs rationally.i can accept those things and believe if i work hard i will become who i want to be.

I am so moved by you opmistism, you have bad health but you still so strong in your mind.
That's so nice.
And I think God is so blessed you and God is treat everybody eaqual, though other people have on health problem in their life, they still have other problem.
We need to live with our situation just like you.
So,we are not necessary to compare with other people.

hi there syankee525,
First of all Im sorry for your health hope you get better. ^_^
Anyway,I really hate the fact that almost everything in this world is being compared. But unfortunately I'm compared to others around me all my life. I've been always compared with my older sister and it sucks big time! Well when people at school and at home compares me to her like how smart she is, that shes better than me and stuffs like that I usually just ignore it and laugh about or make a joke about it so that people would just stop but seriously deep inside I hate and it hurts. I mean why do they have to compare everything/everyone. Everybody is different and everybody is good on their own little things so people should just live it like that cause nobody is perfect after all. :D

i know how you feel. i have health issues but am not taken too seriously by some individuals. chronic pain cannot be seen. etc., i am told there are alot of people worse than you are. i know there are but how about some compassion, right. they don't know what we have or can and cannot do. i have to ignore these comments because it makes me so upset, sad, and worse than i feel. i have to stop thinking about these people, comments, and negativity. i try to understand others feelings and ills but not too many do me. the best to you.

Hi Syankee525,
I think the best way to respond that is to just ignore it. You know yourself better than anybody else. Dont get affected by what other people say to you. Dont get discourage if they told you that your like this and your like that. People who always do this are jealous of what you have. Its nice that you always have a smile on your face. That is a good sign that people like you are happy and contented with what you have. So cheers! Be happy and Enjoy life.

im glad to hear your strong inspite of your health issue, i dont compare myself to others as i know that not all people are the same and that i have my own way same as they have their own, though sometimes we really cant help those who will compare us to other people though i just told them that even twins are not the same. when it comes to health, same thing, not all people in the same age have the same issue as the others might be lucky to have good health.

Yes i compare myself with others, and this is true with most of the people over there.
When i see others some time far ahead then me, i could find many things lacking in me , due to which i am not able to be near them. And when i see myself better to any body i found that there is something special in me. So that is a just a psychology in reality.

Sometimes i compare myself to others especially when it comes to my hobby. I'm compose music and there are times when i compare my compositions to other famous artists to make self-criticisms about my works. It's just normal, though.

As far as I am concerned, I think I am a person who do not want to lost myself in the queue. I just want to keep pace with others. In that way, I usually compare myself with others, which I think can get me in some promotion. If I just look at myself, I think I willl lost me and do not know what are others, how successful are others. So this may do a lot harm to me. In this way, I must compare with others.

I always wanted to have a fit body so I admire those that have good abs and doesn't have big belly like me, I'm a little bit fat. I'm not contented of my body figure at all but if I see those that are thin then I can say to myself that at least I'm healthier than them
