Hello everyone,
Jagex, the makers of Runescape, are holding an event in London called RuneFest.
The event will be held on Saturday 28 August, and the tickets are already on sale at Ticketmaster (they don't sell them on the RuneFest website).
This event will hopefully be huge and we will see a lot of other Runescape players, and get to meet the Jagex staff. There will also be lots of other cool events, some have not even been announced yet.
Jagex have also released an in game item for the people who buy RuneFest tickets (there's a lot of outrage on this subject on the official forums), which is a flag that you can plant into the ground called "The Flagstaff of Festivities".
This event is sure to be very good, and everyone will have lots of fun, I know I will.
The price of the tickets are quite expensive though, at £75 each. I have already bought one though. The profit they make from the tickets, Jagex say they will donate this money to charity.
If you would like to check it out you can look at the official RuneFest website, www.runefest.com.
My questions for you guys are, do you think you will go to this landmark event? And what are your feelings about the in game item "The Flagstaff of Festivities"?

Sorry about that, maybe it will be in your country next year. Jagex said they where going to go to different country's.
Well according to Jagex, it's not real world trading if they sell the item themselves, as it's their property. It was illegal for others to do it because all items in Runescape belong to Jagex, and that they sold gold and other tradable items, but this one is not tradable. Another reason that they say it is OK, is because it adds no in game benefit except appearance.

I thinkit's a bummer that it's in London and I really hope theydo something like this in the united states! Also, do you think going would raise your chances of becoming a player moderator at all?

Yea, sorry that you couldn't come. =(
There will defiantly be one in other country's, they said it themselves somewhere on the forums.
I don't think that going to the event would help your chances at all really. They do choose community focused players now, but I think that's more in game. When I became one it was before all this community focused stuff, so I am not 100% sure.
Hope you can come next year though, thanks for the response. =D
