Yeah, so I'm a math teacher and it's going to be my first time to teach in a formal school this coming June. I will be teaching high school math, although it's mostly Algebra and Geometry. If the school is able to hire another HS math teacher, he will handle trigonometry, business math, statistics and calculus. Whew! So I hope he comes so I won't have much load. But anyway, I am curious as a math teacher. What kind of math did you not like?

well first of all congrats to your new job. math is one of my favorite subjects in highschool besides science. i love algebra and geometry, but when i was in college i learned to love trigonometry, because my professor is such a good teacher, i easily understand what he teaches. but of all the math, i don't like statistics, i'm having a hard time understanding the various tests and also where such tests will be used such as the wilcoxon-rank, paired t-tests, or the chi square test. i'm fond of reading journals in which statistics is always being used.

Yikes. I don't like statistics as well. Hehe. That's why I'm looking forward to the appearance of the other math teacher so I won't have to teach it. Yes, I admit I'm not that ok with when to use those tests myself. Hehe. But if I need to teach it, I'll have to study it again. My experience in trigonometry went down the drain during college, unlike you. Hehe. But I'm ok with it now. :D I hope I can be a good teacher too so that my students would appreciate trigonometry like you did from your prof.

Hi rinzgca That is a good question. Actually a question that I have asked to many of my friends and the usual answer was a question back to me "do you think anyone likes any kind of maths?" I love maths and I used to spend more time solving maths problem and giving time to other subjects. Personally I like Geometry more than algebra. One of the reasons were that I like numbers and drawing. In Geometry I get to do both. I don't like to write a lot and Algebra was a part of maths were there are less numbers and more of X's and Y's. But I would not say that I don't like algebra. happy mylotting..

Haha. You're right. For those who don't like math, of course they wouldn't like all of 'em. Hahha. I guess, I was just wondering, which one of the maths are the lesser evil? Hehehehe. Geometry is fun and I love the proving part of geometry. I understand however, that proving might be hard to teach to the students.
