Why some people suck their own blood..?

because since we are animals it's a natural occurance since animals (mammals) will lick wounds we will do the same thing when injured and bleeding. although we have iron in our blood we still have urges to lick the wound to prevent it from getting infected. its not an emo thing it's just our instincts some people will scratch at wounds to make them bleed on purpose then they will lick up the blood and it does heal the wound faster since we have a chemical enzyme in our saliva.

There are many reasons. The main reason is that within the saliva there is a chemical enzyme (liquid that has acid) the enzyme more specifically is called lysozymes. these enzymes can distinguish any bacteria that is inflicted onto the open wound, therefore it wont get infected.

i think that's just an initial reaction. coz i myself is also doing that. hehe but not much now anymore. i don't really find it disgusting since its my own blood. hehe and also it helps to stop the blood from flowing and somehow i feel like it helps in healing the wound. hehe

I don't know why people suck their own blood when they bleed probably its a natural tendency.When you are bitten or there is a piece of glass people are generally advised to suck out the blood.I think sucking blood is a natural reaction to stop the flow of blood. Beyond that i don't see any other reason to suck blood.

As we all know, we are animals, the highest form of animals, and it is a natural instinct for animals to lick their own wounds. I agree with our fellow Mylotter that saliva is a natural antiseptic. I do suck my own blood because the bleeding stops faster if I do that, and especially if I don't have immediate access to clean water.

I really don't know the real reason. But in my case when I cut my fingers I usually suck it and it heals immediately. I don't know if this advisable but it works for me.

i don't know i guess that is the first reaction when seeing a open cut they just suck on it to remove all the blood or to make sure it isn't infected you know like when you have poison you have to suck it out some how i guess they react as if they are poisoned by something xD I used to do that when i got paper cuts but now i don't

What??? Suck their own blood? What are you talking about? About the emos that cut themselves and then suck their own blood? Or something else? If you ment just normal people who suck their blood after being accidentally cut, then I would probably think that it is because they just want to keep the blood inside of them, so that they wont die to it. If a venomous snake bites you, then it is sometimes needed to suck the poison out of the bleeding spot. If you need to suck the poison ot of the bleeding spot, then you must remember to not to completely suck the poison, because it can be very dangerous. Also, if you first use some olive oil and put some of it in your mouth, then it will prevent the poison from getting absorbed. But... If you ment the people who cut themselves just for feeling the pain, then I would say that they just are trying to reduce the stress, and that they might have become quite sick (mentally sick). Some people want to have pain for reducing stress, but that is quite inhuman, and it is not good for their mentality...

Thats really disgusting to suck my own blood. I also dont know why some people suck their blood. Maybe its delicious? Haha. Not so sure but I guess so.
