Buncefield disaster

Buncefield fire - A picture of the Buncefield incident where a petrol tank exploded as a result of a vapor cloud formed because of an overflowed tank. The fire raged on for about 4 days and there were reports where the firemen who worked to extinguished the flames had to do it twice for a few tanks because it reignited. This was due to the property of petrol which was kept in the tanks and sheer amount of it.

I am doing an assignment concerning the Buncefield disaster which took place in Hertfordshire, England. The incident happened in an oil storage facility in which one of the tank overflowed with unleaded petrol and a vapor cloud was formed which ignited, resulting in an uncanny powerful blast. I call it uncanny because the vapor cloud was formed in an unconfined space but the strength of the blast did not reflect as such. The blast was said to have been heard 210 Km away, as far as France and Netherlands. Since the incident happened quite recently (about 5 years ago), it would be great if I could get an eyewitness account or personal experience of those who were actually there and witnessed the explosion and fire that raged on for four days. Anybody?
