Even if i am very tired, and aircraft flight hours, or traveling by car, of course when I fail ... or train, may never sleep, i sit with eyes open , i never can sleep.
I know people who can sleep with the head on desk , I can not,i can only sleep in bed with my pillows, and even is so very hard to sleep.
You can sleep with no problems everywhere, no matter conditions, in special when you travel?

I can.
I tend to sleep when I travel, especially when I go on holiday or if I get bored. I sometimes have trouble sleeping the night before I actually go away, thinking have I packed certain things and will the house be okay. I generally find it's nicer to have a little sleep while traveling as I have brighter eyes when I actually get to the final destination.
Easily, It doesn't matter if the roads bumpy or raining as I seem to be lucky in the sense I can sleep.

I can sleep when I have company travelling. I can sleep whenever I am tired. Whenever position it is I can sleep when I am tired. If the travel time is long, then I can sleep for longer hours too, because long hours of travel makes me feel tired. If ever I don't like travelling for longer hours, but sometimes it is required. I am a sleepy head. I can sleep even without eating. I can sleep while sitting.

The only of these three avenues of travel during which I am able to sleep is when I am on a plane. I've never travelled for a long distance on a train so I don't know how I would feel about that one. However, I know that I cannot sleep in a car because there is always so much that is going on around me and I know that it is dangerous to travel in a car so I've never been able to get relaxed enough in a car to be able to sleep while someone else is driving.

I can sleep anywhere especially when I lack sleeping for a long period of time. I sleep during long travel because it makes me dizzy whenever I'm awake be it in cars, buses, planes, boats, etc.
My husband gets angry whenever I sleep and he is behind the wheel. He wants me to be awake so I can keep him company over long-distance driving but I can't help it. Once the motor runs, I'm asleep in less than 30 minutes. Can't help it!

Sure, if I'm super tired. Though I'm usually the driver now so I guess I better stay awake! LOL
Like you, there was a time when I couldn't. From the time I was a baby my eyes were wide eyed and wondering whenever I went on a trip anywhere. I couldn't fall asleep for nothing, no matter how long the trip was. My parents thought it was funny that I could be so alert no matter how tired I was, yet my sister could pass out in the seat right next to me. Apparently she took after our mom who can do the same thing...at least on a bus, train, or car anyway. When it comes to planes that's a different matter entirely! LOL
I can, and have slept on the floor before. It actually felt good on my back. However, I have never fallen asleep at a desk. I saw a kid do that when I was in middle school and thought it was rather strange, not to mention uncomfortable. But I guess if some people are tired enough they can sleep just about anywhere!
Happy mylotting!

Usually I just have the travel which takes about 1-2 hours by plane, so I don't have to sleep in the plane. But if I have a travel by a car or train and if it takes over 10 hours, then usually I will sleep. Although it is not as comfortable as sleep in my own bed, but at least the tiredness will make me fall asleep.
I love China

Most of the time it is pretty easy for me to sleep while I am travelling by car, by bus or by train. My medicine makes me very sleepy, and that is probably one of the reasons why I find it so easy to sleep while I am travelling. When my husband and I are going by car, my husband is always driving, I usually try to read in the car, but I often end up falling asleep instead especially if I have just taken my medicine.
Last summer we travelled by bus from Germany to Lithuania, and it took more than 30 hours. I tried to sleep on the bus, but the seats were quite uncomfortable, so it wasn't easy to sleep, and I kept waking up. When we arrived at our destination I was very tired, because I hadn't been able to sleep properly on the bus.

I can only do this if I get into a comfortable position. If I can't get comfortable, I find it very hard to sleep, like you.
If I can't sleep though I will just watch a movie or play a game on my Nintendo DS. That usually passes the time pretty quick. Then I can go to sleep in a proper bed. =)

After college, I worked in another city that's 6-7 hours by bus away from my hometown. During the first few months whenever I go home, I can't sleep in the bus even though most of the time, I travel at night or at dawn. Reason is that, there are a lot going through my mind. I was quite afraid especially so that I was travelling alone. However, when I got used to it, I can already sleep whenever I travel :). Perhaps it helped that I wasn't into any accidents so I feel at peace and I can sleep without any worries that something might happen along the way.

Hello marianna and welcome to myLot. Oh yes I can sleep when flying. If I can get a chair beside a wall in the airport when changing planes I can sleep there too. It has been many years since I took a bus any where so don't know if I could sleep on one. I have not yet had the pleasure of traveling by train. But when traveling by car I don't usually get too sleepy unless I'm driving and that's a very bad time to get sleepy..

Hi Marianna... I can sleep whenever I feel sleepy... Whether it is bus, train or plane (I have never been into a plane yet)... I have slept in the office during my training too.. They were not training us at the moment, so I thought I would take a little nap and slept for half an hour or more... ... The trainer saw this and prevented others from waking me up, I got to know later about it... He said 'let him sleep, as it is we're doing nothing... When we need to things, he'll be fresh and bright..'
happy lotting!

I have no problem sleeping when traveling. I never had to sleep on the plane before because whenever I traveled it was short distances. But traveling by car I would sleep. I would just lay in the back seat with pillow and blanket and fall asleep. I love traveling. I can't wait to do it again soon.

they say that people who are asleep are more likely to be seriously injured (or worse, die) in a vehicular accident.
