I was browsing through ebay, and decided to bid on an item but kept losing to higher bidders. so I got fed up and just decided to just buy it, because every time I attempted to bid a bidding war would start, so nuh I think its better to buy it now at least on the upside of buying now finally got what I wanted instead of all the hassles of bidding and hoping for a win, I guess if your some kind of ebay bid pro you prefer biding instead of buying because your good at winning and know you will get a good deal.
Which do you prefer buy it now or action and bid?
Bidding examples just for fun DVD up for bid starting price 0.99 cents escalating price after 7 day list and bid war 12.99 plus 3.00 shipping equals OMG! for me.
Buy it now example just for fun DVD at buy it now rate $9.99 with free shipping to UK and US equals yay! for me.
So I ask agin buy it now or bid?

Hi Apples. I have been using ebay for years and always prefer to bid on an item. I rarely use the buy it now unless it is an item I need and I don't want to lose it.
The problem with ebay is that many do not realise how the site works and bid way too early and inflate the price when there is still days left to go on the auction Most are new users who have not got the hang of things just yet.
Then there are the Shill bidders (may their accounts burn in Hell)
Most serious bids always come in the closing moments of the action and that is the time to bid and snag yourself a bargain. The best way is put the items you are interested in on your watchlist and if they get early bids and the price goes up too much, forget it and find a similar item.
Remember always put a limit on what you are willing to pay for an item and stick to it and avoid a bidding war if you can

Even with a few hours or even minutes left on the auction you can still be outbid. Anyone who is online and watching the auction in real time stands a better chance of winning. Then some use automated sniping services or software that will literally put a bid in the closing seconds of the auction closing and guaranteed to win it. I have not used such software but it is something that you could look into.

Actually, I enjoy doing both! The fun part about bidding is when you get a really great deal, but if you are looking for one item in particular & continue to get outbid on it, then it's better to just buy it now. I think the thing you have to consider is whether you can bid on it and get a better price than the Buy It Now listings, usually by searching completed listings. It's when you get caught up in the excitement of bidding and stop being logical about it that you end up paying more. Of course, that makes it really exciting for sellers too.
