Hello friends, i am now revealing the truth behind Prahalad Jani`s tremendous feat of not taking any food or liquid for the last 65 years. As i wrote earlier he was under observation by a team of doctors in pvt hospital in Ahmedabead, India for 15 days but they could not find the reason, and they never will. When a person practises a certain form of Yoga like Tantrik Yoga, Hatha Yoga and goes into deep meditation and samadhi or trance for very long periods of time, he achieves the state of 'Keval Kumbhak' or complete and total breathlessness. When this state stabilizes then his body becomes very light and levitates.Going further when he meditates even more with practice of Prayanam or breath control, which he has to do from the very beginning of his spiritual practice, his tongue starts to withdraw backwards and upwards and after a long period finally enters the throat cavity behind the nose. As the tongue goes further upward it finally touches a point when it stops and gets stabilized there. At this point he is said tho have achieved the 'Khechari Mudra' and then a sweet nectar like liquid starts to flow downwards from the brain, through the throat and the gullet and into the body. It is this liquid which is the 'Elixer of Life' and which has helped Prahalad Jani to remain without food or liquid for so long. The Yogi has then full control over death and can live as long as he wishes or leave his body at the time when he chooses to do so. Prahalad Jani has acknowledged that it is this nectarine liquid that gives energy to his body and life besides being the reason for his long time fast.

The story is very hard to believe, because it is impossible. You cannot live one year without food or water. The guy is a fraud.

lol us westerners. Ask anyone with at least an elementary education, and some common sense if its possible to not eat or drink for 65 years. I don't care what kind of yoga you are doing. The story is either fake, or the guy is a fraud.

I've been doing a little reading on the story, and everyone has a different version. Some say he's been fasting for 65 years. Some say he's 65 now, and he's been fasting since he was 6. One person said he's 85 now, and he's been fasting for decades. Then there are the tests, all different too. One said its 15 days, another said its 10 days. And I couldn't help but notice these were all sites and stories from india. Its called a legend. The story is fake.

This is such an interesting situation. I have practised Zen for many years and had some quite remarkable insights in the essence of life, but have never contemplated going without food and water. I would really love to meet this man one day if ever it is in my karma to do so. _Derek

Have you read 'Autobiography of a Yogi' by Paramahansa Yogananda? In it you will find amazing stories of the great Avatar Mahavtar Babaji who is 1807 years and still living in the Himalayas and his equally illustrious disciple Lahiri Mahasaya.derek i do not think Mr Jani meets people but you never know, maybe you may meet him or even someone greater.

i have been following your topic from the beginning, friend VEEJAY19. i ADMIRE the feat. And, as you rightly said, this is not a one day affair. To do that TANTRIC PRACTICE of breathe control, and doing certain yoga rituals, ... requires a proper teacher, and it should start very early in life, say, before 8th year. This particular YOGI is tested not just in some private hospitals, but, HE WAS MONITORED by DEFENSE DOCTORS and by the GOVERNMENT! ... so, there is not a chance of trick or magic here. Further, it is not so good to discuss about KECHARI mudra, and other HATHA YOGA principles, in writing, as, people might try to imitate. IT KILLS, when practiced without proper teacher's help. thanks for promoting the TRUTH of life.

That nectar sounds like quite a thing. I wondered what the truth could possibly be. I have heard of this phenomenon but never heard the inner workings as you have layed them down. Keval Kumbhak. I am thinking we should all learn this technique for what is to come in this country we will surely need it.

If you are really serious celticeagle, then i suggest that you first read this book 'Autobiography of a Yogi' by Paramahansa Yogananda, the great Yogi from India who lived in your country from 1920 to 1952 when he passed away. His remains are interred in the Forest Lawn Cemetry in California. If you are convinced then you can join their organisation and learn the techniques which will make your life worth living.Millions of people all over the world are already practising them as i am too.

I am open minded and I cannot completely dismiss what you have stated but I admit I do find it very difficult to believe. I was under the impression that if no nutrition is put in the body the internal organs will start shutting down but who can say? It is ignorant to dismiss the unexplainable so I will give this story the benefit of the doubt and the explanation does make sense in a strange way...I read that people who claim to be able to live without food or water practice what is called Breatharianism. The thing that worries me about these practices is that, aside from Prahalad Jani who, if genuine, clearly knows what he is doing, there may be people that may attempt this practice and endanger their health.

paula, Yogis of India have achieved much more than this. It requires tremendous discipline, hard work and regularity of spiritual practice to be able to achieve such a feat. The amazing thing is that Jani has achieved it when he was either 12 or 17 years old since he is 82 yrs now.Of course one has to have a Guru and practice under his watchful eye otherwise it could be dangerous.Obviously Mr Jani has had one but has not revealed it.

....Hi vj, I try not to dismiss things that I may be unfamiliar with in hopes of learning something new. I know little about what you have outlined. Would this process prevent dehydration? When I read about this person, I wondered how in the world he could do such a thing for so long. My second thought was why? I guess it is a spiritual thing. It is quite hard to believe, but your explanation is very interesting and enlightening. Thank you for sharing. Hope you are doing well. Take care.

For non-believers everything is unbelievable. The proof lies in eating the pudding my friend. You are not aware at what extent Yogis can achieve, this is nothing. Yogis of India have achieved much much more than this.
