I have found that it is alot cheaper aswell as lot easier having the burgers in the buns that you can buy from the super market as they are put into the microwave for a minuite and you can do the fries the same.Even the children loves it that way and that way you can save loads of money aswell as do not have to wait for it.

I´m the kind of person that does everything from scratch. I make my own hamburgers even grinding the meat. The fries are also done by me. I fry them in the oil I like. I don´t want to have cholesterol problems later in life. Up to now, at 65 years of age, I have managed to keep away from it. Happy posting!

Good job Marguicha. I realize that with cost of food and providing for a family a lot of us have a shortage on cash and time. So these companies cash in on our weakness. My husband never would have a microwave in his home. We have been married 2 yrs now. I did finally buy one after the first year. I am guilty also of using it sometimes I used to like those budget meals for a quick lunch. But microwaves alters the molecules of everything it comes in contact with. The nutrients can go anywhere to an inert ingredient to a carcinogenic one. Especially a lot of plastic/paper lids/covers that emit these into our foods. The changes in these foods can cause abnormal levels in our immune and blood system. YUCK. I think that growing and raising our food is the only way to stay as healthy as possible. Even trying to eat organic essential nutrients have been lost because our soils are depleted. Also the pesticides and herbicides do not help us.

The worst part of it is that those budget meals are not so unexpensive after all. I buy dry bean, garbanzos and lentils, soak them and boil them. I freeze them in serving sizes and take them out when I need them. I put the fried onion and all the wonderful things I add later, including the salt. Those dry, home cooked legumes cost almost nothing as compared to canned ones. And the amount of sodium per serving is quite different. Canned food has a lot of sodium. I did not mention it, but I don´t have hypertension either.

Hi, jugsjugs. I buy the same thing to eat for me and my kids. It is cheaper to spend less on fast food while buying from the grocery store. My kids love White Castle cheeseburgers. They are delicious when warmed up. And the 4 minute fried by Ore Ida, are delicious too. You can buy them in the stringy kind of the crinkled kind.

I, personally, am perplexed and frustrated with, but still determined, to find the correct balancing act between eating healthy, on a budget, and in a manner that makes the best use of my time. Phew! Like everything else in my life, that's a hardcore juggling act! Thanks, Dr...

Myself I have stayed away from fast food as much as I can. What I use to do is fry my french fries at home until my fryer broke. This helps a lot when you have that craving for french fries. Anyway what is it that you do? Let me know thankss:)

It is always cheaper to eat at home. It can be healthier also. You can make things with lower fat substitutes and without the preservatives. I don't often eat burgers or fries when I get fast food. I don't have any kids so I don't have to make them at home either. The few times I did make them at home though they didn't taste as good as a fast food place makes them. There probably wasn't as much fat in them. It seems the stuff that isn't good for you, is the stuff that tastes good.

Hi yes the idea is sounds cheaper; you are rest assured that the burger is cook well according to the taste of course. These days you have to be practical to save money.

I agree. I hardly ever get fast food anymore. I can't afford it and I can save a lot more money by eating at home. I think I had a hamburger from Wendy's a couple of months ago someone else bought it. That is the last time I have had any fast food.

My daughter loves McDonalds once in a while. But she also loves it when I make home cooked fries and burger patties. And we can add whatever we want on it, without getting worried on how much our bill will cost...lol.. And it's surely a treat. Because as you said you save a lot of money. And you can serve "encores" when they are home made. No restrictions, as long as there is bread, the patties, fries...etc..the whole family is happy..(^^,)

They are convenient but have you looked at the calories and fat in those things? I like them occasionally but if I ate them with any regularity I'd die of clogged arteries! I also think my own cooking tastes better, but for something fast they can't be beat.

I guess you could say its good, but I wouldn't think its good for you to eat it all the time. It would be faster to prepare, but nothing beats a good ol' hamburger cooked in my own skillet, and as for the fries I like to bake them, it may take a little longer but I think they taste better that way. I'm not even sure if it may be cheaper, I know alot of the frozen foods like that can be expensive.

In todays world it is difficult to get away from the need for fast food and this is a very easy way to have this food on hand.

Hello my friend..... You are lucky your family like it. Me, my sister, and my brother will like it, we call ourself to have international taste. But my mom and dad will not tolerate that on our table as lunch or dinner, we call they have traditional taste. So for dinner and lunch we will have rice, vegetable and meat or poultry or fish. So every day we have to prepare two kind of food beside rice. I wish we men turn to cook for diner I like to put it on microwave and the dinner ready.

Yeah my wife did that to my son. Instead of buying the burgers and fries from fast food they instead cook it together and eat it. They enjoyed the bonding as well as the eating together at less cost than eating outside.

Fast food such as the type offered by McDonalds has hardly any nutritional benefits. I don't eat out at all and prefer to take a sandwich and dried fruit when I go out. If I am caught out and am hungry I tend to favour a jacket potato (which is a healthy option too). I am vegan so tend to think carefully about how I spend my money, Even if certain fast food places offered suitable options I would not eat there because I don't want my money to benefit people making a business from killing animals.

This certainly is cheap food, but also nasty food. Cheap and nasty with no nutrient value whatsoever. I would avoid these types of meals at all costs. Also micro-waving food is not good for your health. Seriously try to avoid these foods. Your health is more important than money.
