Something wrong with WWE diva division ???

Hi all, just want to share my thought about what has been happening on WWE's divas division... Somehow, I feel there's something wrong with it... As we all know that WWE recently released 'the-current-glorified-and-adored' Mickie James, as well as 'sorry-but-you-are-not-that-popular' Katie Lea Burchil, the thing that came up on my mind was that the WWE faced dead-end of finding a nice storyline... Afterwards, the titles are now being held (both WWE Divas Champion and WWE Womens Champion) by for-me-they-are-so-called-athletes Eve and LAYLA (respectively)... For the Womens Champion, I understand that Beth Phoenix unfortunately has to undergo surgery as she broke her lower limb... But that didn't mean that the title has to be held by someone who can't even fight, did that ??? I think the same story had happened before when JILLIAN defeated Mickie for the Divas Championship, just couple of minutes before Melina captured it... I love WWE, and been its fan for more than 10 years!!! I hope you all understand that I really really see differences between present divas, and past divas... I miss the time when wrestling was really wrestling, and when it wasn't only about putting clothes off in the middle of a ring... What do you all think about this particular thing?

Mickie was released because she was allegedly acting like a real diva backstage, including an alleged affair with John Cena. The affair is allegedly why she was moved from Raw to Smackdown and other behavior is what led to her release. As for the women's division in general. It really isn't any different now than in years past. The girls are mostly just there for their looks and even though the quality of wrestling in the women's division is better now, very few people really take it seriously which is why their matches are so short and why they get so little tv time compared to the guys. It's unfortunate because I think the girls work hard and are much more skilled in general than women wrestlers in the past but it is what it is.

Owww, so sad to know that Mickie was released for couple of problems... All I heard was that she had been released for her 'body image'... However, it might be hurtful to talk but I could see difference between the past Mickie and the most current Mickie before she was released (only if you get what I mean)... With John Cena? I couldnt believe it's true... I knew that Mickie once broke up with Joey Mercury, as well as Ken Doane ('Kenny' from the Spirit Squad) but I didn't know John Cena was on her 'man-list' as well... Yes, I agree with you that it is what it is, but still I dont really enjoy with women wrestling at the moment... Simply because I watched who they were and watch what they are now... Well yes, I understand something must ongoing its progress, just like Trish Stratus as I can take example... I remember she was definitely 'loser' in the year of 1999-2000-2001 but hey, she was one of the best ever forever and ever diva WWE has claimed... But somehow I feel that the past divas division was more on order comparing to now...

Well ive never been found of the divas in wwe. But I do like the pair of laylacool. I loved their feud with mickie james and with beth phenoix. Michele mchool has been so much better since paring up with Layla she has turned into one of my favorite divas in the wwe right now.

Yes, but I LIKED their feud but not anymore, simply because Mickie James has been released... Michelle McCool and Layla, both are not really really wrestling for me... Sometimes I just dont know what they are doing in the middle of the ring... Posing like beautiful model, walk as in catwalk, but hey, wrestling is not about that!

I think the biggest problem is that there is really no reason to have two different belts for the divas. There is really no need. Especially considering there is what, about nine or ten divas. Barely half of them experience any degree of competence in the ring and would be better used as valets. It is very obvious that the division is padding. The best women's wrestler, Gail Kim, is basically an afterthought as well, which really does tell you all that you need to know. That is the other problem other than there being two titles. WWE didn't need two sets of tag belts either and eventually they unified them. They need to do the same thing with the Diva's and Women's Titles. Also, WWE should sign Awesome Kong as well and look over the independent scene instead of swimsuit catalogs. Of course, that will never happen. Still if the unify the belts and junk that Diva's Title belt as well, because I can't take anyone wearing that thing seriously.

Yes, I agree with you that WWE actually does not need 2 titles for the same division, yet the divas themselves are of number of, hmmmmmmm, 12 ??? not sure as I havent checked the most recent one... All I can say is that WWE is currently facing what I call as 'lack of scenario'... Well, for me, Gail Kim is not even the best one they have... They might even have the best one, at least... Sometimes it's very pitiful for me seeing those ladies performed movement and in the end they claimed it as 'wrestle'... I know I know even if we go a little bit back, all the movements are actually the same, apart of scenario and what we think towards the divas, both in past and the present...
