It was a silly thought, but I had the urge to read The Da Vinci Code in Japanese. When I saw the book in a used bookstore in Osaka, Japan, I told myself that this would be an interesting challenge to prove my proficiency in Nihongo (or the Japanese language).
For sure, this book will take me a long time to master and even a bit inefficient as a learning technique. But it's going to be an achievement to be able to do so and that is enough motivation for me.

You are so great to read a book in Japanese!I had the book of the Da Vinci Code in english, but it's so difficult for me,and I didn't read a page until now!I had seen the movie and the edition in Chinese, but I can't read a book in english,so hard!
Maybe I should learn from you and start read the Da Vinci Code.

By the way, I'm still in the first page. It is so hard to read Japanese characters and it's even harder to look for them in a dictionary. I actually tried reading the book with the English version to guide me, but learning one character at a time is a really slow process.
Anyway, I'm going to start studying Japanese grammar soon to somehow speed up my reading skills so I will recognize the words faster.
Hmm. You say you can't read English? But you're here in an English site. So, you can somehow read.

In mylot,I can start and respond a discussion, which is much easier than reading the Da Vinci Code,do not you think so?There are so many new and difficult words in an english novel, hard to me!
Anyway,I will try it and learn from you,you are a good sample!

Just because I know English doesn't mean I know all the words. I also meet words that I don't understand when reading a book like The Da Vinci Code. This is more true when I was much younger.
Well, if you are trying to improve your English, try experimenting here by starting new types of discussion like posting a passage from a book that you are trying to read. Actually, I plan to do that here because I'm writing a book and I want to practice writing here at myLot.
Anyway, you can always follow my discussions. And I can post in your discussions as well so you'll get your needed practice.

Although English is not my first language, I am quite smooth with it. I can read and write english pretty easily.
I do not know anything about the Japanese language. Maybe I will try and learn someday. But I do not know any other language other than some Indian languages and English. Oh, I can speak a little French. It is great to know that the book is actually motivating you to learn Japanese. That is so cool!!
I read Da Vinci Code in English and I loved it.
