a good fhoto, my friend ... but, where the bird? I don't see any birds, which I see only the leaves. Or, a bird that became object your photo has hiding?

lol did you make the photo larger? The bird is just under the two leaves that are bent over in the middle of the photo. He's a brown bird.

No I didn't climb on anything. I was walking my dog at the time, and just took this picture from the ground. Had to take it quick because my dog didn't like to wait forever! lol

Well thank you! I wasn't sure if it was good because there isn't a lot of action in the shot. But I'm glad you like it!!

LOL! Thank you!!!
That is the one photo I was wondering whether or not I should have put it in the contest. It almost seems like it would be boring now that I look at it...
but I'm happy that some of you disagree with me! lol

You may want to try using the rule of thirds in framing your shot. Most digital cameras have a feature to show a framing grid. With this grid enabled, you can then position the bird at one of the vertical lines so it will be off-center.
The rule of thirds is a commonly used technique to avoid the tension created by a highly symmetrical composition.

Would it be better if the bird wasn't as centered as it is now?
I don't really know the rule of thirds in photography.

Most of the time, yes. Off-center shots with the subject placed exactly a third of the distance from one side is the preferred shot.
If you need to learn this technique, the quickest way is to observe what they are doing with movies. What you need to observe is where the camera man will place an actor in a particular shot. From this, it's easy to see that taking a photograph is similar to filming a movie.

All the 14 photos in the link I gave you are mine, this bird is just ONE of mine. I'm pretty sure all the photos you voted for are mine, if they were all together on the link.
Thank you yugasini!

I will send you a message with a link to all 14 of my entries. If you have time I would very much appreciate if you voted for all of them, but if you only want to vote for a few, please make it the funniest kid ones, with my nephew and niece. They are closest to winning.
Thanks

I love it and you took a really good picture. Remember though as long as you like it that is what counts. The photograhper can see something in a picture that others may not.

just be honest, i dont think it's a good one. You need more work in composition.
i can't see the bird. i think if you zoom in a little bit you can get a much better one. But anyway, it's a good try. hope your shooting become better.

Well I have a lot of other pictures that you would probably think are a lot better than this, this isn't the first photo I've ever taken, hehe.
But thank you for the constructive criticism! Someone else did mention cropping it so it's more of the bird.

Lilyofthethorns,
This maybe sound a little bit harsh, but most of the comment who say they love your photo is not being honest to you. You will never learn anything from them.
Actual your photo is pretty bad. Why..
1- When you taking photo you need to have a focus subject. The bird in your picture is lost among the leaves.. try to zoom on the bird and make it as your main subject and wait until the bird in a good position for you to snap the photo.
Anyhow, this can be turn into a very long comment, so just bear in mind that a good photo will have your focus subject and isolated from others. Patient is the key..
Best of luck

Thank you for your honesty, and not being rude about it.
It wasn't about my patience...I was walking my dog at the time I took this photo, and she won't wait around long enough for me to wait for a good shot. And my camera isn't all that great, I was as zoomed in as I could get! I'm hoping for a new one soon--5 months until my Bday....lol

I could not zoom in on the bird any more, that was as far as my camera zoomed, the bird was high up there.
And as I've said, I could have stood there longer and tried to get a better shot, but I was on a morning hike with my dog and SHE was not going to wait around. hehe
Thank you

It's a cool picture but it is hard to see the bird. Too bad he wasn't in a tree that contrasted his colors more. Unless you tell people there is a bird there they might miss it. I think you did a great job though. The image is clear. I have problems with my hand shaking when I take pics lol
