Hi there! I read in the newspaper that there are some websites, which constantly require photographs of various items and miscellaneous things. One can make some earnings, by uploading the photographs. Those websites pay you for your original photographs. My question to you is - Have you ever tried uploading photographs on any site and did that result in some earnings? If you did so, please share your experiences with us. I have not tried it so far, but the offer look tempting to me, as I have huge collected of photographs and those I have clicked myself and I feel those original photographs could be uploaded. What is your say on this?

To post photos for stock sites is verydifficult task. I personally am trying to Fotolia but nothing received. I have reached the following conclusion - you must have very good technique, and equipment -DSLR cameras, tripods, flashes, and many other accessories, and then so you can sell there. But I do not speak for example Canon 350D, I mean a Full Frame cameras. Then you really have any chances to sell, even photos are genuine and commercial. I have friends who publish pictures every day on these sites and earn their money, but I just do not comment on the price of their equipment. Very nice is to earn profits from the extended licenses of some photos after uploading them as uncompressed DNG format and the like. I personally have high-end compact camera and I think that I have quite original pictures, but the most common response I have receive from the site was that they have very similar pictures and I must keep sending more. And so finally i gave up to run on these sites. Moreover, I can show anyone who asks what images I had uploaded. Best Regards

I was using the website Redbubble for a while and sold a photo there. I would love to make more money from my photography but it is difficult, I think, as it is such a competitive field.

My friend has been paid by the site. I am a passionate photographer but haven't yet got a proper SLR, so i uploaded only a few pictures for which they have added some bucks to my account in their website. I have not yet got any money as such in my hands..

I think you can still earn from your photographs because there is a large scope in this field and we should always be doing things we like in life. There is a site I know which pays you when you upload photos, I can give you if you want it.

Hi Deepak, Well you are right, there are some websites but I have never tried yet. But Ithink you can go thro www.dphotojournal.com and see if this site is useful for you. It’s now easier than ever to earn extra money from your images by selling them online via micro stock photography sites such as Shutterstock, Fotolia, Dreamstime and many more. Your photos must be commercially in demand and highly usable for art directors or designers. When you’re submitting photos to the microstockphoto agencies, make sure they don’t have any company logos, trademarks, third-party images and brands. I hope this will help you. Thanks.

At one time, I was searching for websites that pay for original photographs. Being not much of a photographer, that was for my friend. I came across a few sites. One is Triond where we can upload our photos and get paid. AC has has the same feature and so does other sites. But the best sites for photographers are those that are hosted by big photographic brands like Kodak or Sony.

Hi Mimpi! Thanks very much for sharing the link. I will surely check this site. I am not aware if Kodak or Sony have such sites, which encourage uploading of our original pictures and in return pay us something.

I am sure you can earn money by uploading photographs. While searching for images for mylot, I come across certain sites in which they pay for uploadng photographs. They even charge for downloading. Since I am not a photographer, I cannot help much. Even magazines require proper photographs for their articles and stories with photoes printed.

No I have never tried uploading photos to any money earning sites. Just a little warning be very careful with what you upload. People can be nasty. I had a friend put a picture we took at a beach on her site. Someone recognized someone in the background and she had to take it off. People become very petty. SOmetimes understandably so. just want to tell you to be careful. Also if photographs are a hobby of yours share your view of beauty with the world. We can never have enough of that. Good Luck dl

Hi dloveli! Thanks for the information and imminent warning. I fully agree with you that we should not upload pictures, which feature any unknown person, as it might prove a problem for us, as happened with your friend.

I am also looking for some websites that pay photograph submission. But so far I didn't find one. Sometimes if I need some pictures for my blogs I just uploaded pictures from my file but so far I didn't earn anything.

There are a lot of different ways to earn money through photography. I sell my photos on many stock sites like Shutterstock,Istock,Dreamstime,Fotolia... and recieve payments every month. I also use Zazzle to sell products made by my photos and already have few sales. You can check my profile page for link to my blog about microstock sites.

There are sites that will sell your photos. Some things to keep in mind some of these sites require you to give up your copyright rights. You may sell a photo for a few cents and they make a small fortune on your work. Read ALL the fine print. There are good web sites but there are also sites that will buy saleable photo for next to nothing and resell them with full copyright privileges. Good Luck and beware.

It is not something I considered before and you may be onto something. If you enjoy taking photographs I’m sure there is someone who needs them and who would be prepared to pay you for them. I found this site which may have some good idea on how to make money from photography. http://www.all-things-photography.com/photography-money-making-ideas.html It certainly is something worth considering if you have a good camera and you enjoy taking pictures.

I have not tried this. I do plan to start printing some of my photos to sell at local markets though. I think I stand a better chance making money from them that way.

I haven't tried yet to upload photographs to earn money, but I studied this possibility and found some sites. It looks like it may be a possibility to earn money, but first you need a very good camera. As they are expensive for me, I will wait a bit. Pay attention that not all kinds of photographs are in need and you have to learn how to take photos at your best so that you can earn some money. Do not start to upload until you read all their instructions or guidelines. Good luck!
