First of all it is a speed race and in a race your goal is to overtake and not to stay behind your opponent as if you were driving in a road. Secondly at the time that Michael speed up the light of the track were green. And at last the safety car has gone away at the last lap and not because the race was coming to an end.

It was article 40.13 that he broke, which states that "If the race ends whilst the safety car is deployed, it will enter the pit lane at the end of the last lap and cars will cars will take the chequered flas as normal WITHOUT over taking" which is what happened. He must have forgoten about that law, he's old anyway. lol. But ofcourse there is also a fault on the FIA's side, they raised the green flag when they really didn't have to.
