Do you think there is to much hype about the holidays?

I definitely find it completely ridiculous. For the end of year holidays and most other holiday seasons as well. I like to celebrate the holidays in a meaningful way on the holiday, but it rarely happens that way because of the pressure from so many outside sources. Personally, I much prefer everyday life and it would be nice to see people really putting some effort into kindness and generosity on a daily level rather than all the gifting and decorating and outdoing each other with Christmas lights! I'm not anti-holiday, I just think that as a society we have our values severely misplaced and the whole holiday season is a HUGE flashing indication of that.

I completely agree with you every year it just starts earlier then before, and for the past five years I've not been excited about the holidays as I did before cuz of that. I wish they would just wait until the day after thanksgiving like they used to do before.

I think stores defintely put out holiday stuff way early but I don't think u can ever have too much holiday spirit!!

i think that a lot of holidays have lost their genuine spirit. i'm glad there are other people who know the holidays aren't all about shopping for gifts and geting presents.

Yes, I think that we need to get 1 holiday over before the stores start on the next one. I used to work in retail and we would get so sick of the stuff before the holiday even got there.

I use to think..it was just terrible when they started christmas shopping after Thanksgiving..but now most stores have christmas items out even befor Halloween..Just think of how brainwashed society has become..everyone is brainwashed into believing you have to buy and buy and buy for every holiday.. IT's no longer about the holiday and what really is taking place ..it's about the purchases and how much gifts you will give and get..Far cry from most of the Christian days all these Holidays originated from+

yes you right. i know like they are pushing the holidays so pwople go out and buy thing they dont need.
