You are more than welcome to buy them all...

I recently brought a friend to eat. Like all authentic Nasi Padang restaurants all the nicest dishes were served on your table. The clever part is you pick and pay only your favorites and leave the rest. Have you heard of this? What do you think?

This is the concept adopted by most if not all Nasi Padang restaurants in Indonesia. You are welcome to try all the spread. But if you do I'm afraid you have to pay for them. Otherwise, it's still considered unsold and returned. Thanks for the response! :)

No, it is an interesting way to entice patrons, its like having your own buffet table. But isn't it a bit wasteful? Why not set it up like a buffet table for everyone? At least there would be chafing dishes to keep it warm. Is it more expensive?

This is the concept adopted by most if not all Nasi Padang restaurants in Indonesia. If the food is touched it's considered sold, otherwise it isn't. It's like a buffet spread brought to your table. If you do visit Indonesia remember to include a visit to Nasi Padang restaurant in your itinerary. You would love it. Thanks for the response. :)

Wow! That's so interesting! I think I would want to eat there. Is that a restaurant or what? Where could we find that?

Hi brylle! Just look out for any authentic Indonesian Nasi Padang restaurant which serve quality home cooked food and that's what you'll get. I've only thought of this trick quite lately, you tell them what you want before they serve you. But if you do you miss the chance of seeing some wonderful dishes. Yes can be tempting. Look out for one. Thanks for the prompt response!
