Not taking subs

So, I called my local board of ed today. I wanted to get in some subbing, and some money!, before the school year ended. They're not looking for any subs. The person on the phone told me they're actually cutting back.

I'm sorry that your having a hard time. It's tough all over. They are actually closing schools around here on top of laying 100's of teachers off at a time in the different school districts around here. It's very sad. Our future are our children, yet they keep cutting back on education, I just don't get it. Someone needs to understand that cutbacks shouldn't be with our schools, our children are our future. As always just my 2 cents worth!!!

The same is happening here, except the schools aren't closing because there are too many students. However, masses of teachers are being fired. Those who have tenture are getting the jobs new teachers are supposed to be getting. It's horrible. I hope I can make use of my education, and license, and one day become a teacher.
