it's super hard to save money most especially when you try to give all the things you love doing and eating for the sake of saving money. I followed all the tips and suggestions i have learned from anywhere but the most important key is self control and determination. Gosh, it's too difficult but i have to believe that i can do this. I can save money as I promised to myself and I will do my best to keep saving. Though, it requires sacrifice but i know later on i will be very happy and satisfied. Happy mylotting!!

I can relate to you because saving for me is also tough. There are bills to pay and we need to spend money everyday in order for us to survive. What I am trying to inculcate in my mind right now is delayed gratification. Saving today so I can have something better tomorrow. Good luck to all of us who wants to save.

Do you know why is it so hard to save money? The Parkinson's law may have something to do with it. According to Parkinson's Law, "Our expenses always rise to meet income." When you get a raise, when your income increases, you can expect your expenses will also rise. So, it is wrong for us to wait for our income to get bigger before we start to save. We should start now!

Do you know why Jesus is so rich? It's because Jesus saves!

OY VAY! Someone wrote that on the wooden toilet paper dispenser they left behind for us when our family home was bought. To see "Jesus Saves" written on a toilet paper holder conjures up images that he is frugal when using toilet paper.

Oh I know exactly what you mean... for me it is so hard to save, because it always seems that as soon as I have some cash saved up, something goes wrong, and then that money gets used... or another bill comes in, and it has to be used to pay for it... especially these days, we seem to be paying for more, and earning less.

Maybe it's the "Jew" in me, but, instead of trying so hard to "save" money, you could think of some creative ways in which you could earn some more money. Can you take a class at a vocational school that will help your short-term goals to becoming more financially independent? Can you mow your neighbors grass, babysit, wash their vehicles or walk their dogs? You have to be creative in this economy. I have little marketable skills myself, but it is my creativity that has helped me survive these times we are in.

It is not really hard if u have a dollar save 10cents ha if you have 10 dlls just save one dollar everyday and don't touch it and u will see it is not really super hard to save money. I do that all the time. Sometimes i save 10% or 25 % everyday and try don't buy "un-necessary things" .

its true that its hard to save money nowadays especially the high price of the foods, electricity and etc. My partner and i are both earning money online but when the pay day comes the money flew away just easy. House rental, water bill, internet bill..though we promise to save money monthly but nothing happens.

You are right, that is is hard to save money these days. It seems that things are much higher, and it takes more money to do things with that it used to years ago. I start saving, and then I end up having to use the money for a bill that wasn't covered. I have had to use my earnings more than once, so it has been hard for me to save up money lately, but now that I am caught up on my bills, things are much better. I should be able to start saving money, fairly easy now, I will be doing much better in the near future. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I know what you mean. Why is it that everytime I succeed in setting aside money, something always comes up that I need to spend it again? It's really frustrating. I have tried all suggestions on saving, but I never seem to get to an amount that I feel comfortable.

....Hi there tess_quinain, I think that one of the best ways to save money, if you can get this set up. Would be to have your job take out a percentage of your pay whatever you can afford and send it directly to a bank or credit union savings account. That way you don't even see the money when you get paid. The other way as a friend of mind did is to buy a U. S. Savings bond each payday which take time to mature and put them in a safe deposit box out of the way, forget about them. Two suggestions for you. Take care.

my problem is not saving money, but not having enough money to save! hahaha! but i do get your point. it can be very difficult to save especially if you want to enjoy the fruits of your labor. however, we must also remember that we should strike a balance between enjoying and keeping something for ourselves. it may be considered a sacrifice, but we can also see it in a more positive way: it is for our us eventually, for our future and future needs. cheers and happy myLotting!
