Watching Wormwood scrubs, i find myself getting very angry at the UKs prison system!!!
These prisoners are allowed to act how they want and get nothing done to them to punish them.
In the UK, prisoners have a large cell with a bed, toilet, washing/cleaning facility, and 3 meals a day. They can get a job in there, get paid (albeit not much), see their family and friends in visiting times in an open room not behind any security glass, talk on the phone to their family and friends, have access to tobacco and treats with their money which can either be sent ot them or they can earn, they can do courses (getting degrees etc), and have TV privalidges, yes if they act up, they are put into a secure cell where they get none of the privalidges, but this still isn't bad enough for me.
I think a prison should be a 6ft by 3ft cell, a small hay/straw matress on the floor and a blanket, no windows, no glass in the door, no mirror, no razors (they should be shaved for them), no toiletries, no cutlery for their food, NO privalidges or ways to make money to get luxeries like sweets and tobacco, visiting should be once a month rather than once a week and should be done behind thickened security glass so nothing can be passed over to the prisoner, no mail should be given to them, they should not be able to do any kinds of courses which if I was to do would cost me a fortune in fees, and if they do something bad, they should be put in an even smaller room, with no bed, nothing in there at all and in complete darkness.
For me if the prison system was more tough, young people wouldnt do stupid things so much knowing prison is a real worry not somewhere they can go and meet friends, learn to fight, learn to do drusg etc!!!
What do you think about the UK prison system?

I agree, and it is our taxes which are paying for it! Yet they are going on prisons cost too much to run, they are all full etc, they could make thost prisons cost no more than a few thousand pound a year (not including wages for staff), food should be scraps which aren't fit for selling to consumers. And if it affects their "human rights" then so be it...they took away somebody elses human rights by murdering them, attacking them, raping them, stealing from them etc. So why should they have theirs???? It annoys me! lol
