Arizona anti immigration law is making many families worried, not only in Arizona, but also in other states. Many immigrants think they have been discriminated against, and there are protests being planned. Even today, before the Lakers played the first game with Phoenix Suns, protesters lined outside the Staples center to protest Phil Jackson's comments which favored the law in Arizona. What should be done about the immigrants who have taken it upon themselves to violate the law? Do you think they are criminals?

These immigrants might reply that they are acting in obedience to a higher law--that a man has to feed his family, that a mother must put the welfare of her children above all else. Mexico and other third-world countries do not have much of the social safety net to which we have become accustomed. If we sent all the illegal Mexicans home tomorrow, we would not only seriously destabilize our already-troubled southern neighbor, we would also cause dislocations in our own economy which has become dependent upon their presence here. Philosophically, we might be justified in taking a very hard line against illegal aliens. But from a more realistic and humanitarian perspective, legalization makes a lot of sense--for us as well as for the immigrants.

Yes they are criminals, they have entered into this country illegally which is a federal crime. Illegal immigrants cost the taxpayers of CA alone somewhere between 9 and 11 billion dollars a year. If you went to Mexico and became a citizen you still wouldn't be aloud to protest against the government laws, that is a right only given to natural born Mexican citizens. If they feel discriminated against then great, are they offended even better, are they going to make themselves legal citizens? NO, then go home on your own or face being deported. I am one American that is tired of supporting illegal immigration.
As for your statement "they feel discriminated against" they can't have it both ways, you can't pick and choose which laws you want to obey and have applied to you. AMERICAN CITIZENS have to obey all the laws or face the consequences, why do illegal immigrants think they are above the law and why the hell does the AMERICAN GOVERNMENT try so hard to avoid this issue.
Sorry for the rant. As always just my 2 cents worth!!! Happy Mylotting!!!
