It is almost midnight. You are trying to go to sleep. You know you have to wake up early tomorrow morning because you've to go to office or maybe to shopping or maybe you have to go to drop your kids in the school or maybe... There can be any reason... You know you have to wake up early... And you know must go to sleep now, to be able to wake up fresh next morning... But... You're not able to sleep... Has this happened to you?
You're not able to sleep.. You just can't sleep, for any reason... Maybe, its your office, or your spouse or fiancee, or maybe you are missing you girl/boy friend or family members... There can be any reason, once again... But you aren't able to sleep and you know that you will not be able to sleep for quite a while... maybe, till dawn... has this happened to you?
I have spent many such sleepless nights in the past... since my childhood, there have been a few such 1-2 years' periods when the sleep was entirely lost... I couldn't sleep and felt weak the next morning... yesterday night I couldn't sleep well.. No the bugs are gone... It was the memory of my lovely and wonderful girl friend... Oh, How I missed her yesterday night... I missed her and so couldn't go to sleep...
I returned home from work at 1.30pm and tried to go to sleep... And I couldn't... do whatever I could, I couldn't go to sleep.. I remembered her... Remembered talking to her over phone... Her lovely face!! Her wonderful smile... I missed her... I know one thing that I wanted to be with her at that time... It wasn't possible, so I couldn't sleep.. Has this happened to you ever???
Please share, my dear buddies on myLot... Has this ever happened to you???

I never try to sleep. Ever since I was born I never wanted to sleep, I only go to bed when I am sleepy. I was born at 1am! And I have been a night owl ever since! My mom told me it was impossible to get me to go to sleep when I was a child. And now? I only need 3-6 hours a night.
But I have had times when I needed to go to bed early so i could get up early. For a beach trip, we would have to leave at 6am. It takes 3 hours by car to get to the beach. I would try to get to bed by 12am but most of the time I couldn't. I just watch a good film or a good t.v. show until I'm tired.

You are welcome. this reminds me of a slogan I saw for a movie channel. "Tossing,Turning Counting sheep? Watch a movie who needs sleep?"

Yes it did happen to ma, and to a lot of people as well. I had an experience wherein I was totally exhausted and my body wanted to take a good rest, but every time I close my eyes I could not sleep and brain was very active. I've been thinking a lot of things that night. What I did was I wrote everything in a piece of paper, and I took a nice warm bath. It was already 5:00AM that I finally dozed off, and I was late for my 7:00AM meeting. too bad..

Hi Galileo... Thanks for sharing... I have had similar experience.. The body was aching and I knew that I had to go to sleep.. I must sleep... But the brain was highly active... Thinking about my sweetheart... The sleep was struggling to get over me... And brain kept defeating the sleep and me too... Your idea of writing is good and I am going to do that today night... Thanks again! Have a great time!

There have been times that I have felt like I never went to bed at all. I just couldn't get myself to sleep. I get up early in the mornings to get my daughter up for school. I think sometimes that stress and responsibilitues churn through my mind and take me to those sleepless nights.

Hi Sender... Thanks for sharing.. .I do understand what you mean by churning through mind... I have experienced this... The burden of responsibilities, something continuously whispering like, 'in the morning, you have to do this...' Oh yes, I know it.. And I know what you have experienced... I advice you, do not worry that much about it... Just set the alarm clock and put the clock right beside your pillow... And you can rely on the clock waking you up... Have a good time and peaceful sleep!!!

Hi Jotomy, I know what you mean... I am an Indian... And I know, how it is in Indian weddings... I have had such experiences quite a few times- maybe 3-4 times in my life... Thankfully, I was pretty young and not working in those days, or else it would have really been tough for me...
Thanks for sharing... Have a nice time!!

yes, lately i've been having sleepless nights thinking about a lot of things. mostly these are my fears creeping and my concerns about the future. other times i can't sleep because of creativity juice flowing - business ideas, designs, etc. nowadays what's keeping me up at night is watching downloaded tv shows hehehe - law and order svu, vampire diaries, glee, gossip girl, the tudors. hahaha.
cheers and happy myLotting!

Hi Evepin... Thanks for sharing... Your sleepless nights are pretty good, except for the concerns about future part... You are like the modern youngster... Each youngster these days has the concerns and worries for future(negative state of mind)... Some nights they have some new ideas of making a better future (Energetic state of mind)... And some nights they watch TV shows or log on to the internet (Either carelessness or Active state of mind)...
I deliberately put my judgments in the brackets my friend... I am hoping that these will be helpful to you... Have a nice time!!!
