Yup. I agree with you that myLot is a good online workspace for a writer. You can draft pieces of your work here and assemble them elsewhere for publication. I actually started doing that already. I recently gathered my responses to a discussion here and posted them in my blog after a few edits. So, as much as possible, I start discussions or post responses that I can reuse later. It's like I'm building an inventory here of publishable materials.

I'm getting that same feeling LotRowena. You have to take some really poor discussions, and turn them into something worth talking about. Really takes some imagination, and skill. And the more I do it, the more I feel I'm getting better at it. That's what writers have to do. They have to pull things out of a hat. Make a story out of nothing. Take something in your room, and just create a history for it, all the places its been to , seen , who's touched it; stretch your mind. Mylot is a good place to practice those skills.

Good for you. If you think that writing is your passion, you'll definitely get good at it. Just keep writing while learning english. It'll make you a better writer.
