I wonder if there is any way to combine the sub-catagories in the Interests?

While in the process of trying to expand my lists of interests, I noticed that there are quite a few duplicate sub-catagories! How is someone to know which of the same to add for the most oppurtunity to contribute? Or are we supposed to add all? There was an almost similar topic where the person thought there is too many. I feel, that if there is alot of people there are going to be alot of interests. Not the same as my question at all.
I do not want or think there should be less interests, I only wonder if there is a way to consolodate like named sub-catagories under interests, into only one? Collecting all members from the duplicate sub catagories, and having all of them and their discussions listed in the only ONE sub-catagory of that topic.
How do you feel about it? Was it easy to find the interest you were looking for? Or did you feel like you had to add the interest everytime you saw it on the list?

All the interests have been created by users and, sadly, some users did not check to see if the interest already existed and went ahead and created it.
I add them all regardless and then I see the icons across the top f the page and often see interesting dicussions too.
If you want to find out if an interest already exists then open up the 'add interest' box and type 'a' and all the interests beginning with 'a' will appear. Then repeat for the other letters.

I guess that many Lotters had the same thought as you did in your topic. Maybe they will learn something too and have something else to add
