All of the winners for the senatorial post are now proclaimed. What can you say about the result? I personally really don't understand why Lapid was chosen by the voters. And the top candidates are still those that come from showbiz. Its sad that there are really much deserving candidates that didn't won the election.

Same here. I also voted for her. I also voted for ALex Lacson. But both of them didn't make it. Sad.

All senators are proclaimed but some of them are not qualified to be in the senate. I just couldn't understand why on earth that Lito Lapid is reelected?I extremely detested him, he couldn't even understand the laws and rules and regulations written in English. What had he done in the senate during his past term?I really want Rissa Hontiveros and Raffy Biazon to be included in the senate line up for this election, but they are number 13 and 14, I am so sad because Biazon is such a good lawmaker.

If Noynoy will be proclaimed as the winner in the presidential election then shouldn't someone replace him in the senate? In that case number 13 should be proclaimed too right? I hope I'm correct so we have another deserving candidate in the senate.

a little change from the past actually, the general population of voters are still immature and go for popularity rather than qualification. legislation sector should be academic in nature, because laws are complicated and written in a english language.

the truth is that we should have more move on Voter's education on the class D and E societies because only a few of them watches television and see facts of what they do since the start of they're political life. people should have voted out of good track record of legislation, laws that benefits the people today. but still they went for the popularity

The senatorial election has been surprising for me. I remember jumping up in my seat when I got home after voting when I saw that Revilla was number one in the spot. I was like, "What could the people be thinking?"
Despite the technological advancements of our electoral process, the popular vote still remains in force I guess.
Cheers~

The only thing I know that Revilla did in the Senate is back up Katrina Halili. Other than that I don't know what laws he authored or was able to passed. Actually its ok for me to run again if they have really proven themselves worthy. But I don't think Revilla, Jinggoy and especially Lapid were able to do that. Its really saddening...

Lapid don't deserve to be there but we must respect the voters as well. Lito Lapid is popular than Hontiveros or even De Venecia. Popularity is also one aspect that Lapid had. But for me, he deserves not. I think that Hontiveros or De Venecia deserves to be the one of the senators.

He should not be capable of running as a senator in the first place. But yes he's really popular and the INC endorsed him so he won. Really hoping that in the next election the Filipinos will vote smarter, much smarter....

Same old names, showbiz and trapos. I thought there were improvements in how the voter chooses the candidates this election but to my dismay it did not happen. I guess popularity is always a key in Philippine politics. Just look up the top winners of the race...

I agree. Popularity is what most of the voters consider rather than think if they are really fit for the post. This should really change.

that's right. its kinda lame that people still chooses those who does not seem to have done anything while they were in the very same seat for a few years. they couldnt have done nothing as well now! geesh.. such a waste of votes putting action stars in the senate!!

Sad but true, what can I say. I voted also for those who deserve to be leaders but they seem to be not the choice of the mass Filipinos because we can see what happened to the tally of votes.
Let us just hope that they will serve their country very well and have a solution for our country's problem. Happy Mylotting.

Yeah, I was hoping that both number 13 and 14 are still going to make the top 12, but sadly they did not. I am really surprised that Hontiveros and Biazon did not make it. They are really good in what they do, and I know they would have done something good if they were elected. Hopefully next time, we filipinos would learn that not because they are showbiz personalities, they should be voted.
I totally agree with you on the Lito Lapid part. Argh. It's too frustrating.

Hello Jugger,
I never voted for any one of them. but not just because i didn't want them but i got too nervous shading the ballot that it might not included if i ever made a mistake. but the so called winners are old people in the politics, even the biazon guy who's dad was also a senator there. the much deserving candidates wasn't included in the list, because some are really popular

I agree, people vote Lito Lapid because he's popular action star. I don't like most of the senators that has won. They still choose old senators, I want to give the newbie a chance.

A lot of Filipino are affected on the popularity of the candidate. That's the reason why Lapid won the senatorial race.
