if you can play just one musical instrument what would you choose?

i'm not so into violin because it's too classical for me. :)

You haven't heard of contemporary music being played with a violin, like rock music with a violin or even rap? I believe I've seen someone beatbox with a flute.. Anyway, be it too classical or not, that's my choice

yeah, sometimes i like an acoustic better than electric. it sounds more relaxed and laid back when it's acoustic.

I recently got an acoustic guitar and I must say that I really enjoy it! I've had electric guitars for awhile, but I really like acoustics for strumming! Plus, acoustics give you a lot more freedom because you don't have to use an amp. But I still like to play stuff on my electric guitars too.... :)

wow, i've been trying to teach myself how to play guitar for years but it doesn't seem like i'm improving. i have three guitars but i can't use them superbly.

i'm trying to learn how to play guitar, keyboard and drums. i don't really know about the theories of music since i never had a music lesson in my life :)

You don't need to have a formal music lesson. Internet alone is a big source of information and you can find a lot of materials for learning music..This is what I did. :)

i've been trying to teach myself how to play a guitar for nearly three years. i'm afraid i'm not really improving. i do know a couple of songs but i'm not really good at it. how can you play an acoustic guitar like a drum?

I've heard that if you play your instrument with other good musicians, you can really start finding yourself to improve. It is important if you find a good source of inspiration and work from there, whether it be a musical style, an artist, a song, etc. You can play an acoustic guitar play tapping the front (where the sound-hole is) with your hands. You can get a good sound out of it because it is acoustic, like a drum. Be careful that you don't damage/collapse the guitar, but this is how it can play like a drum.

i don't really know what a tamburitza is. is it some kind of a percussion instrument? i would try to listen to croatian and serbian music to understand your answer more. thank you danish canadian.

me too. actually, i'm also trying to teach myself how to play keyboards. i can't afford a piano so i'd settle for keyboard :)

yeah, me too. piano's really expensive. so me, i settled for keyboard. i bought one last week, and i'm trying to teach myself how to play it. hopefully, i figure out how. :)

yeah, it is romantic. i like a guy who can play and teach me guitar :) i don't know if all girls are like that though.

to be honest, i've never really liked violin. but these days, when i try to play on my keyboard, i sometimes select violin as my tone and i'm starting to like it.
